My guess? His agent, Jimmy Sexton hit a minor roadblock on salary negotiations and told Willie to tweet that out for leverage. The next 24 hours will be telling. Maybe Uncle Phil threw in some Nike money. |

The tweet, itself, says no such thing (as the author of the article claims). However, I think he very likely stays. I agree! I read the article and read the tweet and wondered what I was missing. The tweet absolutely does not say he's staying at oregon. It just says that he's *currently* being the coach at oregon. It's kind of interesting that the article is from Footballscoop, the same place that said the next OSU coach was Beau Baldwin. I don't actually really care if Taggart stays or leaves but this whole thing is wild to follow. There is still the FSU fan who is absolutely guaranteeing on twitter that Taggart is the next FSU coach. I'd think he is just trolling but the fact is that Taggart has *not* actually done anything to put the rumors to rest. Has he come right out and said, even once, that he will definitely be the coach at oregon in 2018? Has he come right out and said, even once, that he has signed their contract extension? Not that I know of. All we have is tweet that says he's coaching the ducks right now and somehow fans and Football scoop are like, "There you go. He's finally said he's staying for sure!". LOL. |

What a dumb article. It's so concrete in its conclusion that he is staying coach but that tweet FURTHER reinforces that fact he is seriously flirting with FSU. Probably hacking out the details or waiting for the background check to clear. If Slick Willy weren't entertaining FSU he'd have said something concrete back being the ducks coach next year. |
