Jazz Simmons mentioned (with Jamie Weisner-esque numbers.....looks like we landed a good one) in this article: Jasmine SIMMONS | Oregon State Jasmine Simmons headlines the beginning of NCAA signing period for Australian commits, by officially signing with Oregon State. Hailing from New South Wales, Simmons had already verbally committed to the Beavers in May, the signing period allowed the star youngster to solidify her commitment to the program. Simmons was one of the star members of the 2016 U17 World Championship winning Sapphires where she put up 11 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. The versatile forward has long dominated her class in Australia. When she last represented NSW at the 2016 U18 National Championships she put up 17 points, 12.75 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. Simmons has spent three years at the Centre of Excellence in Canberra alongside other top Australian prospects. Go Beavers!!

One of the big concerns for next year is that we have no proven forwards. We'll have Aquino and Morris as bigs, but likely there'll be times when there's one of them on the floor and the other resting. We need at least one more good rebounder. Washington, Thropay, and Corosdale have yet to prove themselves. Even though Jazz is undersized, her stats and video suggest that she is an aggressive rebounder and that she elevates well and is able to release the ball within inches of the rim. Her video also shows great speed getting down the court. If Gabby could play a small forward at 5'11, I figure a more talented player like Jazz can, too. She appears to be an outstanding talent, so I wouldn't be surprised if she had a lot of playing time even as a freshman. My dream team for next year should have the talent to win a national championship within the next few years: C: Morris F: Aquino F: Simmons G: Pivec PG: Slocum Jasmine's Layup

It's our problem this year... next year magnifies if Thropay and Corosdale don't dramatically improve with Marie gone we'll be totally outside oriented.
