hope coach Smith gives him a call. his named surfaced during our last football coaching search. he was considered an offensive guru at Colorado school of mines. crazy offensive stats : 42 first downs in one game, 727 total yards in a game. his quarterback won their division's equivalent of the Heisman twice . proponent of a spread passing, fly sweep, read option, wide open style. Nick Saban has seeked advice from him on offensive philosophy. good enough for me.

Stitt would have been a great hire a decade ago, not today. He was an innovator then. His offensive prowess is stale today. I could see him as a position or special teams coach, but that is about it.

Sub-par FCS coach who couldn’t the Griz into the playoffs despite the best facilities and financial support in the Big Sky Conference. Niner did not work with Stitt when he was at Montana, so there’s no connection. Stitt will be lucky to get a coordinator job at the FCS level. He would fall in his face in the P12.

I would also add that I do not believe that he has ever truly recruited the West Coast. There are probably a 1,000 guys that would bring more to the table as an OC.

For that matter... Jonathan should bring on Kevin Kelley as offensive coordinator. He took over a school that was a perrenial loser and has gone something like 163 and 25 with his offensive scheme.

I hope we are that "sub-par" the next couple years. articles in the Montana papers say it was more of a bad fit that his coaching abilities . if you google bob stitt sbnation there are a couple stories about his offensive philosophy. pretty interesting read. might be just what we need, scheme our way to an advantage. I don't think we can consistently bring in as much talent as the upper echelon teams in the PAC 12, this might be a way. he should at least get a phone call

I don't know if he's good or bad but, it's not all on the coach. Even a genius has to have players with the ability to learn and improve. Bad players can cause great coaches to be replaced. To quote Mrs. Gump, "recruiting is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get".

Missing the playoffs and losing to your two rivals (EWU and MSU) for two consecutive years isn’t acceptable. Not saying it’s fair, but it’s how it is. I’m sure CJS has his assistants targeted. I doubt Stitt is one them, but if he is he will have my support as a new member of our program.

I look forward to seeing Idaho put a monkey wrench in the Big Sky. Idaho was pretty good in Division 1AA before they jumped up to D1. Stitt is a prick. I sent a WR to play for Stitt at UM. He was a great kid that started right away in Missoula but got fed up with Stitt’s act and transferred out.

Thank you for contributing that. You do not often get to hear about coaches from a player's perspective.
