So, I'm thinking we keeping our QB recruits, unless Coach Smith has a different idea. A lot of the other spots will depend greatly on who is hired for assistants.

Smith is going to help recruiting particularly if he gets some good coordinators on board. The key is the staff he hires.
I for one and am excited about some former players joining the staff. They will be more genuine about the program and Corvallis which I believe will build relationships with recruits far better than Andersen and his staff ever dreamed of.
Heyward, Bray, Breckertfield, are the types niner needs on staff.

I’m wondering if Coach Smith can potentially build up our walk on program to a greater level than it has been. If anyone can walk into a home and tell a kid as a walk on he’d still have the opportunity to fairly complete for playing time, it’d be him.

I think on the surface a lot of high school kids might say "WHO?" after they spend 30 seconds on google or ask their high school coach, they will be intrigued. Particularly if you are a QB. |

One more thing on recruiting, both new and existing recruits AND re-recruiting current team members... He can honestly say he's been through a program turn-around as a player.
