Pretty comparable. We are going to need a total gut and rebuild. But, we won't need to have full on tryouts from the student body.

It is far easier to load up a roster with talent from recruiting in a shorter period of time than football. Apples to an orange.

LaVonda did no lasting damage to the WBB (and unlike GA, she actually had two good seasons). We were in the WNIT in Year 2 under Rueck and in the NCAA tournament in Year 4.
Hopefully the FB program can rebound as quickly.

Hopefully the FB program can rebound as quickly. Plus quite frankly, OSU should never be horrible at WBB, there is too much local or regional talent too be truly bad. The fact that we were is a testimonial for how bad she was. On the other hand I think the scarcity of Football talent in the PacNW has gotten worse and will continue as fewer Hschool boys play at all. This effects the s%#tty teams, (us) more than the good. Hard to feel optimistic, but OSU is screwed totally. I don't see a light at all. Maybe pray that the NCAA folds and P5 teams go some sort of semipro system.

We were never "truly bad" under LW, certainly not Judy Spoelstra bad. She won 20 games and tied for 4th in the Pac-10 her next-to-last year.
And there isn't a plethora of DI, P5 talent in Oregon. Check out Pac-12 rosters. Not many Oregonians.

Since you brought up LaVonda - IF I were the OSU AD I would pay her top dollar to become OSU recruiting closer - She may not know how to recognize or coach talent, but give her a recruit target (Doesn't matter what sport), she will seal the deal

Even whoregon had a few... girls from Hermiston, Eugene, etc.

Stanford:No Oregonians.
Louisville: No Oregonians.
Vandy: One, who does not start. Ashley Smith hasn't played there in nearly 20 years.
Tennessee has two.
Oregon has one.
We have two now. Deven Hunter and Katie Mac were/are the only Oregonians on our three Pac-12 title teams.
Oregon produces a lot of mid-major/low major players, Big Sky, WCC, Big West. But not a lot of Pac-12/P5 players, which is what I said.

You're just a guy... not always right but seem to have to be in your eyes.
