other questions: how much of PK's money was spent to obtain this year's recruiting class?
Kentucky West and does the NCAA even care?

I have heard media people joke about the fact they can't give tix away... Did they think people would not travel on Thanksgiving for this? Or travel here for Thanksgiving??? I guess when you're a billionaire egotist you really don't think like the rest of us. The lower the attendance, the better. I like that OSU is out of town vs potential upper level competition.

No, because by rule they were NOT ALLOWED to be included (two teams per conference maximum).
But there isn't a rule that Stanford had to be the 2nd Pac-12 team invited. It is embarrassing that we are the only Division 1 team in Oregon not invited.

While an impressive collection of elite CBB teams ($$ actually CAN buy most anything), this event will likely damage Portland’s “sports town” reputation, as the attendance will be dismal, except for Gonzaga and hole. Also, I’ve been mystified over the last several years why the dump MC has not been torn down. Well, the light went on a couple of weeks ago as the city announced completion of a big renovation for BB. Wow, just in time for Scrooge Mc dick’s birthday party.

I believe the MC is considered an historical building and thus cant be torn down.. i remember reading something about that a few years back.. but dont quote me on that

MC is an historical building. The full name is Veterans Memorial Coliseum. There is a war memorial below ground level near the main gate. I believe that is also hindering the tear down.

There has been an effort to get it classified as historic, but I don’t think that has happened. It’s ridiculous to keep pouring money into that dump.

Bogus reason. No one sees the “memorial plaque” down on the ground level. Tear it down and build a new “memorial”, maybe a baseball park, or a skate park, I don’t really care. Just stupid to waste money like that

But I've always thought The Memorial Coliseum is an exceptionally beautiful building Especially when compared to that ridiculous dump next door - the Moda Center.

Just stupid to waste money like that Ha! I took my young son down the stairs to see it once! It's more than just a plaque by the way. I do think it should be moved to an area with more visibility however.

But speaking as one who has taken the time to visit the memorial, I don't see it as a reason to keep an underused building if there's a better use. The memorial could be moved, upgraded, and maintained better.
