Must have been a down year in Oregon. Once again, we clean up in Washington.

Took a look at Perfect Game top 100 recruiting class rankings 2018 re:PAC-11.
AZ 13th, USC 20th, UCLA 22, tsdtr 34 (almost all Calif.), OSU BEAVERS 42, Cal 46, UW 55 (only 2 in-state), ASU 57, WSU 66 (6 in-state), Stanford 67, Utah nada.
If my memory serves me well, that's below recent classes for both OSU and Tsdtr. Of course, Beavs are a true veteran team for 2018. Also went back and looked at 2015. With Madrigal, Grenier, Larnach, Kwan and Fehmel....not to mention Atwood and Z. Taylor, PG only had us ranked #27. Grain of Salt.

Well not that we need much immediate help this year, but we will see some frosh contributions. Next year's class from what I've read is significantly below our recent classes and unfortunately we'll need contributors right away from all we lose this year. But, let's enjoy 2018 before wondering about 2019.

We could have one one decent prospect from Oregon. Jake Dukart, the MIF from Lake Oswego is scheduled to enroll at OSU on a football scholarship. A quarterback, he said he also intends to play baseball in the spring. He was recruited by the OSU baseball staff.
Several considerations here - first, with the FB coaching change, will he fit the new offensive system and will his scholarship offer be honored? Second, it's difficult for QBs to double in a spring sport because of the time demands of spring football, extensive meetings, and throwing with receivers in April through June.
It has been done but by skill position players, but a rarity among QBs.

And, never know what the new HC will want/keep?

As a small side note to our class, we had one event occur that I liked. For a long time we had a commit from Sean Sullivan, a RHP from Chaminade HS in West Hills, CA. RHP Jake Pfennigs from Post Falls, ID. was a longtime commit to Arizona State.
We flipped Pfennigs and he signed with OSU. Sullivan flipped from OSU and signed with Cal.
I have a feeling that may work out in our favor. Pfennigs is a skilled multi-sport athlete that was a first team All State Idaho 5A selection in Baseball and Basketball as a Junior. He's a high ceiling guy in baseball. He's 6-7, Sullivan is 6-1.
With Donovan, Soulages and Pfennigs, Coach Yeskie has some big boys to work with.

It has been done but by skill position players, but a rarity among QBs. One recent example of someone who played QB and pitched at a high level was Jameis Winston. Russell Wilson also played some professional baseball while he was playing QB in college. There have been others, but those are a couple of high profile quarterbacks who also played baseball while in college.

Sure, it's been done quite a few times but the % of QB's that attempt it isn't very high. How about Chad Hutchinson and John Elway at Stanford? George Shaw was an All American in both sports (QB and OF) during his time with the Ducks in the early 50's.
My point was, it's hard because the Fall football season overlaps with fall baseball practices and Spring Football takes place during the baseball season. You are attempting to serve two masters and you risk falling behind others at your position, possibly in both sports. Famous Jameis was good enough in both sports to afford missing some time with the conflicting schedules. Dukhart isn't quite on that level yet. Fisher and Martin let him set his own schedule at FSU.
We'll have to see how it plays out for Jake.
