Apparently he flipped to Purdue. Oregonian had an article about it. Some may not be uber concerned about it, but I see it as a major bummer. He has SERIOUS speed and I hate losing serious speed. We've made a lot of hay with 5'7-5'10 guys with crazy speed and I was hoping he would be the next in line. Now we have to hold on with both hands to Trevon Bradford so we don't lose both of our burner commits. I believe Bradford already signed a financial aid agreement and plans to enroll in time for spring ball, but we need that NLI. It also makes it an even bigger deal to get a commitment from Kee Whetzel who is in town visiting right now. Bummed about Ferguson no matter what.
Yes, I posted this on Scout too...but everyone seems to have deserted that board so I thought I should post it here where it might actually be a discussion.

I hate losing any recruits this late in the game. Hope this is the only one.

Some boards... Cough, cough.... To remain unnamed..... Don't see it as a big loss... Frees up another schollie for our primo coaching staff to pull in another 4 star....maybe they will.... Yes, sorry.... Being a bit sarcastic.... But GA staff recruited the kid for a reason. It's a loss. To Purdue ? Excuse me ?... Lol... Great engineering and aerospace school. Kid could be an astronaut, don't know. But he has elite speed, for anyone to say it isn't a blow is not in the real world. We need all the speed we can get.

I'll take the pretzel man over this string bean.
Run track if you're that fast, oh wait there's no future in track. Maybe the world's biggest drum attracted him?

His twitter said something to the affect of him wanting to be closer to home. Indiana isn't THAT much closer, but definitely a shorter flight. Losing him really hurts no matter how you slice it. This staff is really trying gather top quality athletes and Ferguson was definitely that. His flip is painful.
Whetzel's commitment is really nice but he's gonna be an OLB, not a WR. I guess that means we need an additional WR in 2017's class.
