One of the greatest plays I have ever seen at Goss. Incredible shoestring catch and throw out at the plate. All hell broke loose after Gordon spiked the ball. I still don't know what Boyd said to the duck players, some day I'm going to have to ask him.

Not bad for a below average outfielder with an average arm.

I had left my seat on the first base side and was wandering along the third base side when that play happened. Yup Dave, one of the greatest plays ever at Goss. And who better to get gunned down at the plate by 'ol porn stache himself! Awesome!

One of the greatest plays ever! Other memorable ones were: (1) The grand slam that Rhino hit in a game against UCLA. It won the game for us, and the cheering went on for several minutes. I think he came out of the dugout and tipped his cap. I was out in the outfield bleachers back then, and we were rooting for such a hit. (2) The HR that Conforto hit that cleared the top of the scoreboard. It was still rising when it went over, absolutely an amazing sight to see. I met up with him outside the locker room after the game and the person who got the ball brought it for him to sign. You could see grass stains on the ball. Michael said it was one of the farthest he had ever hit, maybe over 500 feet. (3) The head first slide to home that won the first SR game versus Michigan, back in 2007. 8 2/3 innings of scoreless ball, a classic pitching duel. The Michigan pitcher had a no hitter going until Joey Wong wrecked it with a bloop single to left that scored a speedy pinch runner. Goss went nuts. I had a seat in the bleachers on the first base side and started chanting "Omaha". Several people nearby reminded me that we still needed to win another game. I told them there was no way Michigan was going to come back after losing this way. I couldn't get a ticket to the 2nd game, but we won something like 9-0. BTW, the first game was postponed a day, due to rain. They could have sold 20,000 tickets, if they had a place to put everyone.

My boy and I with my bro-in-law and his daughter standing at the rail just beyond third base watching that play may have been the best single live Beaver sports moment of my fan career. It's a great memory. Thanks for posting.

It was an amazing play. After the game I was fortunate enough to be in a position to shake the Michigan pitcher's hand and congratulate him on a well pitched game. He was very gracious in defeat. The entire Michigan team was a class act.
