We have waited nearly four seasons (since December 29, 2013) to get another crack at Notre Dame on the Beavs' home floor in Gill Coliseum. The #17-ranked Beavs will take on the #5-ranked Fighting Irish at 11:00 am this Sunday, November 19.
Get your tickets soon and bring your orange on Sunday!

Ron callan mentioned 5k sold on the broadcast. So that is a big walk up can bet there are a lot of phone and online orders happening right now. I can't be there, but I bet it will be a pretty significant crowd Sunday morning. If the game was at a decent time, like 3 pm or later, I would bet on a total sell out.

Given that we are got 3737 for a Friday at 2pm (holiday for some) game and 2925 for a 6pm midweek game, I would say interest in the new edition of WBB is high. I suspect we get ~7000..... As mbabeav says, were this game at a decent time, probably would remind us of the Stanford game last season. Go Beavers!

As much as the experienced teams of the last few years were able to feed off the energy of the crowd, I think the younger team we have this year might need it even more.

Those still at brunch or services might be missing the next program definer for us..... UND looks like a tough out - I had forgotten the Stanford guard Lili Thompson now played for UND. Of course the highlight video just strings together some of the top plays. Article. Video: Go Beavers!

It'll be a learning experience. This team just doesn't have the interior depth. ND can match our size, has very good experience. If Marie had foul issues it could be a long game.
If we can shoot well and get into their depth issues we'll have a great chance for a W. But, we have to make them play D for most of the shot click and have the limited turnovers we've seen up to now.

It'll be a learning experience. Right now this team just doesn't have the interior depth or outside quicks to keep teams from making Marie from having to help. ND can match our size, has very good experience. If Marie has foul issues it could be a long game. If we can shoot well and get into their depth issues we'll have a great chance for a W. But, we have to make them play D for most of the shot click and have the limited turnovers we've seen up to now. Coach knows what to do. I trust he will have the ready to go. There are lots of coaches who know what to do. Some actually get their players to execute. And others have great talent to make that execution effective against quality teams. We've been spoiled by all three recently. The good news is that the first two are going to be here as long as SR is. The latter comes and goes with recruiting success and injuries. I've not seem ND play this year and their ranking could be based mostly on reputation, but I don't see OSU having the inside presence (depth... missing the two bangers) to keep ND honest. I also think well have trouble keeping quick perimeters in front and out of the lane. If we shoot lights out from three and keep Marie from foul trouble I think OSU wins... that's assuming ND is truly a top 10 team. If they're not, we just kick their arse.

If you were a 16- or 17-year-old female basketball recruit who is considering a scholarship offer to play basketball at Oregon State University, might the video below taken during the pregame introductions on Sunday leave a positive imprint as to what attending college in Corvallis and playing in front of 7,570 rocking fans would be like?

That's the womens' games - never as loud as the mens'. And maybe the Sunday 11AM start time lowered the energy.
But just wait for the Savannah State game. There will be some noise then - and at dog-whistle frequencies.

I want to go to that game (will help make it certain I am taking the day off from work - I am going to lose a few weeks of earned vacation given my work schedule anyway). But now I am in a quandry - noise cancelling headphones? cheap earplugs? cotton stuffing? My shooting range headset will just emphasize human and near-human noises..... Go Beavers!

There's no defense against the output of 8000 prepubescent larynges reverberating in the concrete soundbox that is Gill. I still can't hear police sirens or parakeets, and it's been two years since I went to one of these. On the plus side, now my wife always sounds like she is using her "bedroom voice".
