Not just her shooting, she played solid defense. But the best thing to see is a true freshman in her first game taking control of the point. It was obvious that she is a point guard. She not only knew where her teammates were supposed to be, she knew where they were. She was thinking a couple steps ahead.
She will be PG #2, and by Christmas she will be finding herself on the court getting significant minutes.

I was also gratified by her spacing moving the ball up the court and how she stayed calm and didn't try to make things that weren't there happen. She also was directing traffic when she had the rock and pulling players into huddles on fouls and other stoppages. There are some good leadership qualities there, along with some innate basketball understanding. I'm thinking (I know, one data point, but still) that her AAU coach Kelly Sopak might have been onto something as opposed to being on something when he labelled Goodman the "steal of the college recruiting class" - this is the guy that coached Ionsescu, so he knows talent. Very gratifying.
Go Beavers!
