It feels like much of the momentum is towards Beau Baldwin as our next head coach.
He is a good coach but I am fearful that the powers to be (Ed Ray +Scott Barnes) will select him not necessarily because he is a good coach.
Rather they will select him to pacify the fans and boosters, and thus avoid having to do the real work of laying a solid foundation and changing the culture of the football program and the athletic department.
Oregon State ,by nature of inherent limitations , is going to have to do a lot of things to have even moderate success in football.
Many of those things may not be noticeable to the fans, but they better start happening on the basic structural level or to change the wording from a famous movie , Beaver fans will soon be asking "Are we in Kansas?"

Don't overthink it. If you think BB is a good coach, Hire him. That's 100% improvement right there. Personally I think there are better choices available but anybody who can gear up a competent offense is welcome at this point. Beav fans need points on the board to give them hope again.

You are correct in your observation that would be 100% improvement. However what if we need 1000% improvement to correct the current dumpster fire? That other 900% probably needs to come not from the coach but from elsewhere within the Athletic Department at OSU.

What momentum do you speak of from the powers that be that make these decisions?
I know some fans are jonesing for him, but has there been anything so far in the press that the Pres/AD are leaning his direction?
