I think we also conveniently forget that Robbins was a HUGE reason for the big upset of Zona last year, and our early conference success in general. We were not a very good team at all by the end of the conference season - which we conveniently blamed on depth and season wear. The reality might have been closer to that team/players being solved.

I was thinking about a couple things yesterday. The first being anyone who has ever played sports know that its tough to find your rythem with inconsistent playing time as well as making a player lose confidence and play insecure because he is so worried about being benched. Competigrea for pt is grptt but its tough when the year prior they had none and got very comfortable. Several of the vetrans are not playing close to the minutes a game they did last year(someone pointed this out before). Its got to be tough going from playing 25 to 30 a game to now playing 10 to 20. The second thing is even though he had some off the court issues getting rid of victor robbins has hurt us big time. He was just over 10 points a game for us last year and it would be huge to have him as a senior now coming off the bench for us. I feel for Tinkle because its been tough to get Gomis, reid, n'diye minutes due to injuries and whagoi20 early. I think missing Gomis and n'diye in the middle of our D protecting the rim has hurt us more then anything else defensivly and on the boards. Take all these things into account and it throws everything on gp2 and the freshmans shoulders and its been tough for them to be consistent. My hope is we get healthy and our youth seasoned and are clicking for the pac 12 tournament so we can make a little run.

The absolute best response in this thread is from "The Glove". "This is short?" As far as the writers pint, which may or may not have bottomed out, .......awe nevermind, it is ridiculous to discuss the work of someone else. I trust Wayne Tinkle and all the coaches who came before him. Nobody takes a job and wants to F it up. This years team so far gets a C- from me.

I seem to recall that when Tinkle was hired, he talked a lot about how the game was really about defense and he doesn't really concentrate on offense all that much. Could the inconsistency on offense that we see this year be the result?
Or is it that I have remembered incorrectly and Tinkle never made any kind of comment about being less concerned about offense?
I'm pretty sure that was Gary Andersen......

I'm pretty sure that was Gary Andersen...... I recall something similar from WT as well. I can't find the article, but here's a similar one, which points out that even at UM, powerful offenses have never been his trademark. www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2014/12/wayne_tinkle_works_to_change_h.html

The more of his players, and the less of CR's players, on the roster the better the chemistry will probably be.
