Reported by the same attorney/booster who first reported McElwains’s departure from UF. mobile.twitter.com/DarrenHeitner?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5EauthorWhy do we care? This was the front runner for Scott Frost. They still could be, as nothing is official yet. Moos reported today that Riley is finishing the season which gives us a head start. UN Would have close to 9 million in buyouts to both him and Pelini. Would Frost want to deal with the expectations at Nebraska versus Oregon State? I think we could be competitive from a financial perspective...thoughts?

My guess is there's not a chance at all that Frost would be interested in the Beavs. For many reasons that we've hashed and hashed over here.

I think Nebraska can afford the 9 million in buy outs.... they seem to be selling the place out from time to time It is the only big football game in the state.

Even with Pelini's buyout, they still cleared $8,397,186 last year. They could fire Riley and not miss a beat. Although, it should be noted that Nebraska is in the lower half of the Big Ten in both revenue and expenses. All 13 of the Big Ten teams that report (Northwestern is private) show more income and expenses than the bottom three Pac-12 teams: Colorado, Oregon State, and Washington State. Nebraska, which ranks eighth in the Big Ten in both revenue and expenses, still ranks ahead of all 10 reporting Pac-12 teams.
