are worthless anymore and besides, there's alot of talk about getting rid of them. So, IMHO, they should punt kick offs. And only on kick offs would the ball be live without being touched. Obvious onside kick situations would allow for a tee.

I'll go one further. Get rid of kickers all together! We have a man's game being played by physical specimens. They go all out physically trying to destroy their opponent. When it comes down to the end of a physically brutal contest....? Out trots a 5'5" 160 lb kicker to decide the outcome. What??? That makes no sense!
No kick offs, teams get the ball on their own 25 to start a series.
There are 3 ways to make extra points: -two yards out, one point. -three yards out, two points. -seven yards out, three points.
We can work on punts next!

Watching football yesterday I told my wife how much I loved the schools that bring out a big kicker wearing #97 or something. So I like your thought.
