Good to see she found a place that wants and needs her skill set.

So OSU pulled Mayhue's offer in October to make room for Burrell who picked Tennessee anyway?? Not quite... KM just was not the position or talent SR needed. There was never any promise of a sure thing with Burrell. SR could have waited if KM was truly a talent he thought would help. He gave her time to find a home. Key point... no other Pac12 team, even lower echelon, offered. Montana is a perfect fit for her.

Let's see. 11 on the roster today. We lose Marie Gulich next year. So 10 + 3 signees = 13. NCAA Division 1 limits WBB scholarships to 15. So I think we did not need to pull Mayhue's offer in order to make room for Burrell. Now, I am not saying that we didn't do that - and the newspaper article linked above even says "when OSU pulled her scholarship offer in October" (so it must be true :-)). And indeed Burrell came visiting in October. But correlation does not always imply causation, and in this case there is at least numeric evidence countering the "needing to make room" aspect of your statement. My suspicion is Mayhue did not stay on a development trajectory (some discussion in this forum earlier, FYI) that had our coaches thinking she merited a scholarship (assuming one was extended in the first place - this article says Rueck "wanted" her to join the program and that she "committed"), but that is all wild speculation on my part. It could be our coaches thought we had Burrell in the bag, but note that Burrell never made any public commitment to us, and our coaches are not new to the business......And since coaches cannot comment on unsigned recruits, we will never know the OSU side of the story. Go Beavers!

It seems obvious that Simmons took her spot. I imagine in October the conversation was, "Do you want to ride the pine behind Slocum and Simmons, or do you want to go somewhere where you can play?"
Really, with a name like "Katie", she wasn't going to play ahead of "Destiny" and "Jazz". Maybe if she changed it to "World Peace" . . .

Head Coach has said that he likes only 12 players on the roster. The reason is playing time for all. More than 12, “the end of the bench gets really lonely”.
