Baseball America's high school player rankings of their Top-50 HS Draft Prospects have usually been fairly credible and they become more accurate with ongoing revisions as the spring approaches the June MLB Draft date. Looking at the Top-50 ranked Seniors that will be playing their final season in 2018, is a bit surprising if you are a PAC-12 fan.
The PAC has only four of the pre-season top-50 headed to our conference while half (25) are committed to SEC schools, and 10 more to ACC programs. That is a huge disparity of talent distribution heading south. Of course, that all becomes irrelevant once the Draft takes place - most of those ranked players will be early round selections and will sign professional contracts.
Arizona has the #3 and #4 prospects committed, Stanford has #46 and Cal has # 48.

Casey and Co. Seem to be happy landing the kids that are going to need to learn and grow. I'm sure they would take all the first round studs if they weren't gonna sign, but that never happens. Can't wait to see the talent they bring in though.
