For a great nonleague crowd after the noon kick for ASU, but they schedule it for 8pm?!
Bonehead move in my opinion...

Starting time determined by the Pac-12 Network.

Starting time determined by the Pac-12 Network. And, that makes it less bonehead? The Pac12 is supposed to work for its member schools and knew the football game time.

Beyond bone headed, this is about as stupid as it gets, sacrificing a chance to fill Gill for an OOC game is criminal.

ASU weekend: First time in Oregon in many years for niece's wedding. Wedding at 2 and reception at 6 on Saturday in Grants Pass, effectively blocking any opportunity to head up I-5 for a fb of bb game. Danget.

This MBB game was supposed to take place on Friday night. I am happy they moved it so I could attend both games that day. The Pac-12 had 2 time slots for football that day followed by 1 for basketball. The other football slot was at 4 p.m. Our game is the only one of 5 in the conference that day that has been announced. The rest will wait another week incl. Cal-Stan and USC-UCLA along with another home game in Eugene. It's very difficult this time of year to have MBB on TV on a Saturday because of football. With 2 home games in the valley on the same day (yet again, why?), splitting the game times far apart is the best we can hope for. The alternative might have been a day basketball game and a late night football game. I'll take a day football game this time of year, thank you. At least it won't be below freezing like it was the last time ASU was here! Fun game that seems like a long time ago.

Football games are all-hands on deck in the athletic department. There are many issues at play here, with lots of moving parts, not the least of which is football/basketball permit parking (many of the same spaces are delegated to different people), dealing with incoming and exiting traffic, locker room space in Gill, security staffing, having the Pac-12 TV production crew move from Reser to set up Gill, etc. A five-hour window between games is just about right.

Oregon State doesn't pick it's start times, the league does. an opportunity would be for OSU to move the start time forward, closer to 5 to accommodate the football game. But this is not a mistake that OSU appeared to make. I am quick to criticize our marketing too... but this one is out of their hands. If you want to call the Pac-12 network boneheaded. I agree. they drop the ball on lots of things all the time.
