Great pull... ties into my conversations this weekend about the possibility of JW open to looking at another job.

I wonder how often that stadium is filled for track and/or soccer It seats 22,000 which is more than Hayward Field. So - not very often.

So apparently Cal builds this 22,000 seat track stadium in 1932, just 9 years after they built Memorial Stadium for football which had a capacity of over 78,000 at the time. They must have expected a lot of people to attend sporting events at Cal.

They must have expected a lot of people to attend sporting events at Cal. It arguably has a more prestigious history than Hayward having hosted eight NCAA championship meets, a National AAU championship, and the 1971 and '78 USA vs. USSR dual meets, among others.
There have been 12 world records (including records by Dutch Warmerdam, Jim Ryun and Henry Rono), 26 American records and 24 collegiate records.

I wonder how often that stadium is filled for track and/or soccer From what I got on the Cal site for 2017: Men's Soccer West Virginia - 0 (Probably didn't have anyone man the entrance) Northeastern - 155 Creighton - 310 Yale - 368 Santa Clara - 300 Stanford - 1166 (Its was 1474 at when the two played at The Farm, which probably looked better in a 2000 seat facility) Oregon State - 189 Washington - 605 San Diego State - 160 UCLA - 746 Finished 6-4-0, 11-6-0; second in conference. Selection day is the 13th, likely to be selected. Women's Soccer UC Irvine - 443 Santa Clara - 591 Long Beach State - 395 Oklahoma - 320 Oklahoma State - 451 Arizona State - 416 Arizona - 521 Washington State - 491 Oregon State - 221 that other team - 691 Finished 6-4-1, 13-5-1, fifth in conference; will host Santa Clara for NCAA College Cup Tournament. Broncos will want revenge after how their previous get together ended with a Cal PK in the 89' that won it for the Bears, 2-1. Can't find any track attendance figures. Overall, I'd say that place is oversized for soccer purposes.
