Let's be honest how many people move from Oregon to Wisconsin because they want to? Lots of people move here from Wisconsin.
I hope we're at least pursuing the option.

I believe Wisconsin is his alma mater. And after the "success" that Bielema and Anderson had after leaving Wisconsin, he might just want to stay there.

Because he grew up there?
Because he went to school there?
Because he's making more money there?
Because he's in the weaker half of the Big Ten?
PC will have to be dynamited out of UW. He's not going anywhere.

I know they are with us fans. They may or may not be with a coach. From the outside, Wisconsin does seem like one of the better jobs out there for many reasons and it may be Chryst's dream job, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Never hurts to present a good offer to someone you want, they just might say yes.

Of course we would pick up the phone in our CURRENT roles... I meant if we were in Paul Chryst's shoes and were currently the head coach at Wisc...

He's not going anywhere. I do not know what Chryst gets paid, but Andersen did receive a slight pay increase here compared to there. I agree with everything else.

From the outside, Wisconsin does seem like one of the better jobs out there for many reasons and it may be Chryst's dream job, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Never hurts to present a good offer to someone you want, they just might say yes. The only reason the OP even asked about Chryst was because he has an Oregon State connection. Otherwise, he might as well have asked if James Franklin was a candidate. The real question he asked (without stating the OSU connection) was: Paul Chryst coached at OSU for multiple years in 2 stints. Do you think that connection would make him a candidate at OSU? (also implying that maybe he has a stronger affinity for OSU than Wisconsin, since most objective people probably consider Wisconsin a better job). Reply: No. He has a stronger connection to Wisconsin, that trumps any connection he has to OSU. If he had asked if James Franklin would be an OSU coach, the response would have been - why would you even bring up James Franklin? SaveSave

Real good coach. I DOUBT he wants to leave his Alma mater. He's having some real success there, Madison is a great town, and "Wiscy" is very much supported. Camp Randall Stadium is an iconic venue that holds over 80,000 souls. Would be a great hire. Not going to happen though.
