Berger, a 6-foot-8 forward and graduate transfer from UMass, would go through a thorough, tiring post-sunrise gym routine with the Beavers' top returner. He was stunned to see Tinkle back within a few hours, then again later in the evening. "I had never been around somebody who consistently put in that much work multiple times a day throughout the week," Berger said. The offseason effort that Tinkle put in following back-to-back season-ending injuries mesmerized teammates at both ends of the age spectrum. Tinkle Article

Hard work is good. Playing defense and listening to the coaches is better.

He only averaged 2.2 steals and .8 blocks a game last year, it should have been 5-7 times that.

About admiring individual hard work versus teamwork and leadership. Coach Tinkle constantly complained last year in his pressers that none of the players were listening to him. That is why I like the article about Ethan that indicates he may fill the void left by GPII. Great Tinkle is working on himself, but it only helps the team if he listens to the coaches when he is in a game.

I just hope that Tres does not have to do it all. He is a scrapper and that seems to be when he loses control and get's injured. I would love to see him over an entire season, doing everything he is capable of - instead of covering for others lacksadaisical efforts.
