I think the first base job will be won with a stick more that a glove.
Nobach should be in the OF/DH group with Larnach, Kwan and Anderson.
Also, curious if a closer emerges or if Yeskie goes with more of a committee approach again.

Mcgarry wins the job at first, left handed and swings a big bat.....Casey hid him at LCCC, this kid can really play.

A few points on Alex McGarry, who committed to OSU out of Vancouver's Columbia River High School before playing a year at Tacoma C.C. I'm not sure if he is receiving scholarship help or is walking on, but he had several scholarship offers following a strong year at Tacoma in 2017.
He's been playing 1B since early in his HS career and that appears to be his natural position. He is reputed to be excellent defensively although I haven't seen anything specifically rating his arm. He has decent size and was listed at 6-2 and 200 in his TCC Bio. He hovered above .400 at the plate during his Junior year at Columbia River, but nothing on his Senior stats. He has gap power and hit 4 home runs this year, 2 at Tacoma CC and 2 in summer ball.
At TCC (30-17), he hit .393 with 27 RBI, and OBP of .510 and a SP of .619 In 84 at bats, he had 7 doubles, 3 triples and 2 HR's. He was a first team all Northwest Athletic Conference selection and made the ABCA third team All American listing. At Columbia River HS he was a two-time All GSL-3A choice and was the GSL-3A Player of the Year in 2016, and first team All State 3-A by the AP/Seattle Times. He was the Vancouver Columbian's "Regional Player of the Year" in 2016 and played in the Washington State All Star series in Yakima with Preston Jones and Jake Mulholland.
This summer he hit .262 playing for the Kelowna Falcons in the West Coast Collegiate League. The Falcons finished 28-26 and lost the division playoffs to the Victoria Harbor Cats.
McGarry may give the Beavers another left handed bat in the lineup, and some pop with men on base. We can only speculate what Coach Casey will do with the 1B position, but McGarry should be part of the consideration and one of several options the coach has before him.

So Heimlich is actually coming back? No judgment here, since I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I wasn't sure if he would be back or not.
