First game in 6 Days. Can’t wait for the season to get underway. I think this team will exceed expectations and I don’t think a 4th straight PAC-12 championship is at all out of the question.

I share your excitement about the start of the season and look forward to the discussions after the first game, when we'll have a better idea of what the outcome of this season will be. I'm equally excited (and nervous) about the Nov. 8th signing day... crossing my fingers that we'll really sign at least our known commits. I heard rumor that UConn was trying to sway Andrea Aquino after their prime recruit at center changed her mind and committed to Texas.

I too am full of anticipation about both signing day and the start of the season. I just enjoy seeing new teams and talent gel, and enjoy how well coached the WBB team is, and their team camaraderie.... I also enjoy NLI day, fun to start anticipating what next year's team will look like.
We have yet to have a WBB recruit openly verbal to us and then "flip", though as we enter the rare air of getting recruits that would fit in at UConn, not clear what might happen. But I never bemoan those that never set foot on campus....one of my favorite basketball movie scenes:

While I have no way to know if it is accurate or not, it makes a lot of sense that after losing their top recruit at center that they would go for the next one on the list (regardless of her commitment status, given that they are the mighty UConn). I feel fairly comfortable, given that Andrea moved to the west coast and is apparently close to Patricia Morris, that she will stay committed. I think Rueck can make a good case that it might be more exciting to be part of what he is building in Corvallis than to be simply a part of yet another UConn national championship (they ARE getting boring... thanks South Carolina for the change last year!). With Scott's coaching, I think that the 2018-19 talent is going to be a realistic challenger for a national title, if not that year, then the next.

My recollection may be faulty, but I remember reading that UConn was recruiting her *before* she committed to OSU.

AA verbally committed to osu very early. Prior to that she drew the interest of many of the power house teams, I'm sure including uconn. She still chose us. Possibly part of the reason her situation is better now is due to her visit to osu and the events that transpired just after it.
I'd hate to be wrong but I don't think we are going to have anyone this year change their mind. With CR and staff recruiting their "type" of person, not many if any will flip.
Yes bennyskid, I also heard that uconn recruited her.

Well according to a profile story on Sydney Wiese, she really wanted to go to UCONN as her first choice, but simply was not offered....reading between the lines, her interest in being part of rebuilding a program was a fallback decision. Obviously the lure of UCONN and its multiple championships is real and is very strong. Hoping AA does not flip, but we may know in a week or so.

I believe you should be thanking Mississippi State, not South Carolina. MSU knocked out UCONN in OT in the semis. Otherwise, UCONN would have wiped the floor with USC and been champs yet again. And, I might add, Geno Auriemma is a leaky pus-bucket (according to reliable sources). And, BTW, it's spelled "recruit", not "recrute".

Dear Board Moderator: By unregistering Thickhead, you have forced me to reveal the ugly truth that he is my brother. The above post was a joke on me... not an attack. Please consider re-instating him. He makes some pretty brash statements sometimes, but usually will not be the first to make a personal attack. He does like to toy with people (especially baseball111, but then many people spar with him). He is a fanatical Beaver fan, in particular a fan of WBB and MBB. Family is always your downfall

Family is always your downfall Yup, true to his moniker, Thickhead thought he'd been disusered but wasn't, even if he deserved to be. His normal login didn't come up, and he panicked. Went crying to his brother who tried to clean up his mess again, but just dug the hole deeper.
