Guard Kat Tudor is expected to play a big role for the Beavers both offensively and defensively this season, and she likes where the team is right now. “We are a young team and lost a lot of leaders,” Tudor said. “However, we are all improving every single day and we are all stepping into more leadership roles. One of the players who is expected to take on a bigger role both on and off the court this year is sophomore sensation guard Mikayla Pivec. After having a solid freshman campaign last year, she’s ready to step onto the court as a leader. CR days that KtM is probably the best passer he has known, very high praise. He also commented on her versatility and how they need to take advantage of it, maybe she won't be the full time PG. She also needs to be more aggressive, another thing they are working on. Once again he praised her for her very high basketball IQ. The article is good but the actual interviews are posted below it.
Kat has really picked up her defense. I thought she showed promise last year, only her height and long arms especially held her back. I expect that an athlete of her caliber would gain control over time with the right coaching. She definitely plays with a lot of intensity and showed that she would not be intimidated.
Comments were also made about how this team is loaded with shooters from top to bottom. I hope we are able to find who has the hot hand(s) on any given night and let them shoot, instead of relying on just one player.
