My childhood best friends daughter won the cadet national championship a month or so ago, as a sophomore. Only her second year wrestling. She then stuck around and wrestled the next age up, juniors I think, and got AA honors, finishing eighth. She's on the national team and just pinned the South African national championship in 48 secs or so. She is a beast.
I bring this up because her brother was looking to be a stud, I think 5th in state as a freshman, but then got taken down in practice, banged his head and suffered a brain bleed. Ended his high school career. He has been watching his sister and now desperately wants to get back into it. Tells his dad he will be 18 soon and can do what he wants. My question is, do any of you know if OSAA says you can't wrestle anymore, if that translates to junior colleges as well? Do they even look into medical history before letting a kid participate? Just curious, and this is the best place to ask.

Yes, even at JC, we had to have a full physical performed prior to season starting, signed off by our physician & then turned into compliance dept..
That's unfortunate about your friends son. Really sorry to hear that!
Is the daughter at Central Linn?
