Anyone out there know what is going on with AA and her new school - Ribet Academy? Ribet's Facebook page shows photos of this year's team, and some photos of recent exhibition play - and no one anywhere looks anything like AA.
As near as I can tell Ribet played Harvard-Westlake and another school this past weekend in some kind of tournament at Burroughs high school.
I can't piece anything together in any meaningful way, so I thought I'd just see if anyone on the board knows what's going on....
Interestingly, several major schools (including UW) have sent reps to scout Ribet practices this past week (according to Ribet's Facebook page) and I can't imagine they are doing that without some incentive.
So, if there are any Beaver fans out there who are on top of SoCal Girl's BB, maybe you can fill in the dots for me and for other WBB fans....
While we're at it, I'm not exactly sure where Patricia Miller is playing this year either....
Something to think about: If Beaver recruits are a microcosm of the H.S. Girl's BB world (Aquino, Miller, Burrell) it is starting to look more and more like the topsy-turvy world of Boy's basketball...And I don't mean that in a good way.

Patricia Morris -- 2017-18 roster indicates she is playing this year for Duarte H.S. - the same school she played for last year... I had it in my head that she transferred - obviously not !! In my previous post I refer to her as Patricia "Miller" -- I've got some kind of dopey mental block on her name as I have been wrongly calling her "Miller" off and on for the past 6 months....
At any rate, I'm still trying to figure out the deal on AA...

FWIW, the AAU team that she's on (with Patricia Millerorris) has some recent posts on their web site calling out both PM and AA as OSU "signees". Patricia's dad is one of the coach/directors of WIL2WIN. Obviously neither girl can be a signee yet, but it seems it's a done deal in Dad's mind. The site also posted the photos of the girls in Beaver gear (the same photo from the BeaverWBB twitter feed). halfcourtwiltravel.weebly.com/It also mentions that Slam Magazine has an article in their October issue, but I can't find anything on the Slam web site or twitter.

And yes, practically every school in the West has visited Ribet in the last few weeks. ASU, Utah, USC, USD, UTEP, Iona, and more. Fullerton State has a commitment from a Ribet girl. Another Ribet girl is on the El Salvador U17 team. Looking at that video, I see at least one other girl that looks to be maybe 6'4" or 6'5".
From what I can gather, up until last season, Ribet's WBB coach was a former Tennessee player, active in the AAU scene. She quit and the program fell apart last year, but Ribet clearly has . . . ambitions.
So I don't know if all the recruiting love is aimed at AA specifically.

I don't see any reason that any of the four verbal commits would change their mind, nothing has changed at OSU. The girls we are recruiting don't seem to be the type to just "change their minds". If they do change their minds it is better to find out now than later, and they obviously wouldn't be a good fit.
As for RB, has anyone heard anything beyond we are in her final four? For some reason I'm just not so sure that she is as good of a fit with us, I could be and hope that I'm wrong.
Just over 3 weeks and we will know...NLI starts November 8.

It may mean nothing, but I think it's odd that Andrea Aquino's twitter page is suddenly now protected and the photos that were there of her in Oregon State outfits along with Patricia Morris and Andrea's mother or any other references to Oregon State are no longer freely visible or have been completely removed.

Why would she suddenly go private after the pics of her wearing OSU gear were "public" for many months?

I can imagine that not everybody was happy with her leaving New Jersey. Or maybe she just wants privacy.

I can imagine that not everybody was happy with her leaving New Jersey. Or maybe she just wants privacy. She may want to focus on academics, may not want every coach/fan/reporter (remember the sketchy NJ coaches scandal?) in America to direct message her, maybe is taking a page out of Patricia Morris' book (who as far as I can tell isn't active on Twitter [what a delightful thing! Some others in our country might want to consider this approach, but I will leave it at that]), OR......she may be re-thinking her decision privately (which is also her prerogative at this juncture). She was not that active on Twitter even when her feed was unlocked, and as has been observed earlier, most of our commits do show up (I don't know of any WBB recruit in the SR era who said "I AM coming to OSU" and then reneged). So I remain hopeful, but that is simply a Beaver fan talking. Go Beavers!
