The win over hole is more impressive RPI-wise, but this seemed like a better performance to me overall. Some really nice things:
- 48 points in a half - this didn't look like a team capable of that in recent weeks. Especially with Thompson going 0-fer from behind the arc. Thompson shoots more typically from deep, and the game was over sooner than it was.
- USC's lack of a big rim defender was a big difference compared to recent losses. He could slice through their D at will and score when we needed a bucket badly.
- Big difference in shooting %, both at the FT line and in the field. A case where OSU being able to set up the pace really hurt their rhythm and helped ours. That was their lowest scoring total in a loss for the season.
- Seems to be making a big difference for Tres to start - he's just playing with a lot more confidence and becoming a leader on the floor. Starting to look like he will help fill that vacuum next year without GP II.
- Rebounding was even, but they still had a lot more offensive boards than we did. Better overall effort though.
- Not sure if we should be reading into Gomis and N'daine not getting PT, but Big G getting some minutes. He's the best rebounder of the bunch at this point, so that may be part of it. I suspect the bigger reason though was USC's player matchup. 8 blocks by the team is a surprise though with the lineup we had. Drew took 12 shots, I'm guessing that's a season high - great to see him more aggressive.
- Olaf had 3 rebounds, 2 steals and a block - makes a huge difference when he can contribute at that end.
Overall, a win over a top 25 team (both polls and RPI). Big win in general just to stop the skid, but also to keep alive any Dance hopes.

Being at games, going to some away games, but too busy watching and chatting with my son to ask others around me...
No Togai (?) dressed or in street clothes on the bench? Sick?

I'm pretty sure I saw Togai in street close on the bench, but no insights. Maybe part of the bench shortening movement.
