As a fellow suffering Beaver, I sympathize with some optimistic outlooks that this year's team may have PAC12 wins ahead. Unfortunately, I think those rose colored glasses have fogged over to the point of not seeing what's right in front of everyone's nose.....with the exception of barely outpointing a winless Div 1A Portland St., the Beavers have been boat-raced in EVERY SINGLE GAME THIS SEASON. The closest they've come to any Div.1 opponent is to be beaten by "only" FOUR touchdowns.
More specifically, in his program's third season, Gary Andersen and his incompetent staff have assembled a group of players which is largely devoid of PAC12-level talent and which clearly lacks sufficient depth to remain competitive after halftime against any substantial opponent they've seen this season.
So which upcoming opponent do you see us beating? Unfortunately, there are no more winless Div1A teams on the schedule and to be honest, I doubt Andersen and his "braintrust" of assistant coaches could come up with a decent game plan against Crescent Valley High School.
No, notwithstanding our most ardent desires for a Beav comeback this year, at this point it's probably better to accept the obvious than to continue to fool ourselves: the Beavs are likely the worst team in NCAA Div. 1 football and are unlikely to come close to beating any team in the PAC12. And with CGA's recruiting program locked in an obvious death-spiral, things promise to get even worse in coming seasons if large-scale changes aren't undertaken in the very near future.
IMO, it's always better to deal with reality with a view toward fixing the obvious than to continue to confuse ourselves with false hopes.

the Beavs are likely the worst team in NCAA Div. 1 football Not even remotely. We'd be favored in some of not all of these games... 105. FIU? ? Not so sure 106. Idaho 107. CentralMichigan? ? Not so sure 108. ULM 109. Kansas 110. Fresno State? ? Not so sure 111. South Alabama 112. Ball State 113. East Carolina 114. Connecticut 115. Akron 116. UNLV 117. Louisiana 118. UAB 119. Coastal Carolina 120. UMass 121. San Jose State 122. Nevada 123. Rice 124. Georgia State 125. Texas State 126. Georgia Southern 127. Kent State 128. Bowling Green 129. UTEP 130. Charlotte If that makes anyone feel better?

It's REALLY, REALLY hard to go 1-11 in a football season, so I do think it's possible we catch some breaks, or catch someone on a bad week and scrape up another win. As far as being the worst team in D-I? No. We are certainly in the conversation as the worst team in a P-5 conference along with Kansas. The other fact is, GA and his clown show staff have largely made this sh!t show themselves. I have zero faith that they can somehow correct it. SaveSave

We sell recruits on the fact we can beat South Alabama and Coastal Carolina?

Only real chance for an upset lies against Cal. Awhile they (Bears) have shown big improvement over last season, they are playing pretty much like the #11 team in the conference. If this incremental improvement in defense for OSU truly exists as so many on here are crowing about then OSU may be able to stop Cal's inconsistent offense. What troubles me about the Cal game is the OSU offense is still a dumpster fire without any sense of direction lead by a QB who is not a Pac 12 level athlete.
As for the other remaining opponents, too many weapons with all of them for OSU to overcome, even Hole. I will go with 1 more win tops.

Kersting.....I stand corrected-- as you point out, "As far as being the worst team in D-I? No. We are certainly in the conversation as the worst team in a P-5 conference along with Kansas." Agree.

We beat Nikegon this year again Your statement seems unlikely but in a CW, a team can become an apparition of itself and suddenly take on the appearance of a winner. Were that to happen and the beavs win, I would be back on the Gary Wagon for another season. Beating those ÷=%=34%% means that much to me.

I was thinking maybe a home game. A CO or ASU.
