I am not saying GA will work out for sure but here is the case to give him another year or two:
-only has two recruiting classes -lots of assistant coach turnover -only two coaches have ever won in OSU history: 1. Brought in players on parole (won't happen again) 2. Found hidden gems which doesn't happen with technology today
I have another season or two in me, if 4* QB ends up being good I think we have room for optimism

So it doesn't matter that we are worse this year than last? Or that by all appearances the coaching staff has lost the confidence of the team?
The guy and his staff has created a train wreck of OSU football. If he were able to recruit a 4* quarterback he would play him a few games and then bench him for a 2* one.

Lots of assistant coach turnover shouldn't be a reason for keeping incompetence around; it is a symptom of his incompetence!

Leach had a terrible 3rd year and look what he has done in year 4 and 5. People calling for his head are short sighted and haven't thought about whether we could even upgrade at coach. He needs a new OC, if he doesn't make that change all bets are off Year 1... 3 wins taking over the worst mess of a D1 program ever maybe... Year 2... doubles the W's and goes bowling... Apples to Oranges

I am no staunch GA defender, trying to be objective and I just think it's harder to win at OSU then people think. GA did recruit guys like Eric weddle and bobby Wagner.

After Six games, OSU 116 points, opponents 270 points. WSU, 382 points, opponents 463 points. OSU is exactly half way through the season so it easy to project our numbers out.

Or his ability to evaluate QB talent? - are you good with another year of trying to play a 3-4 without the horses?

damd4lyfe .... How dare you even think about posting anything positive here. Don't you know that kind of thinking is forbidden?

============================
Wulff won four games overall and two Pac-12 games his last year. Leach won three anbd one his first year. Leach also inherited a redshirt sophomore named Connor Halliday, who was a pretty good QB.
WSU was not good when leach took over but it wasn't the absolute dumpster fire many make it out to be.

I just think I see next year as his 3rd year more than this year. OSU to me needs to be an older team to be successful To quote SS "The devil you know is better than the devil you don't"

They'll pound you down until you start drinking the cheap stuff again. Then you'll be bitter and upset just like them. Look at me. I tried. And now I have nightmares of beavers. Beavers have me surrounded baring their teeth and slapping their tales. CGA tries to save me but he's being attacked by Angry Beavers and distracted by seductive co-eds.

From what I could find Waddle committed to Utah when GA was at Southern Utah, and Wagner signed with Utah State while GA was at Utah. It's kinda tough to be sure though because GA bounced around a bit those particular years. He did coach them when he got to their schools, can't fine where he successfully recruited them though. Perhaps he recruited them though, just like every other coach in the region.

Yep. Dennis Erickson was actually a bad coach, only won because he brought in criminals, and Riley only won because other coaches didn’t have YouTube yet.
I’m not even mad that you think Gary is gonna get it done here. I just can’t believe you’re finding excuses for our successes in the past.

WSU was not good when leach took over but it wasn't the absolute dumpster fire many make it out to be. Contrary to your "expert" opinion... many football analysts called it the worst situation in D1 football at the time. The WSU AD himself called it that... and Leach was advised by many not to take the job. From his cozy Key West abode he credited Moos's honesty and the chance to mold a program as the reason to take the chance. Plus Leach was a bit of a pariah at the time. Haliday being there and turning into a good QB is 20/20 hindsight. But, of course you know best.
