Whomever is the coach next year needs to be bringing in at least two non-high school quarterbacks. Maybe one JC and one post grad.
This is a huge lesson in the law of unintended consequences. By naming Luton the starter (if not in words, but in actions) last Spring and in the first week of practice, it causes 3M to transfer. If coach andersen would have let the players decide, this would not have happened. When I say let the players decide, I'm referring to how Coach Casey says he makes out the line-up card. He lets his players compete and by the time the league season rolls around, the players know who is better. It builds trust and camaraderie among the players and in relationship to the coaches.
We are three years into this reign and there are no quarterbacks on the roster who can complete a pass more than 15 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.

Given that it can't get a whole lot worse than the CGA era, let's just have Casey coach our football team too. Maybe Yeskie can even help with QB mechanics. I'm sure Wilky can give us names of past Beaver coaches who have coached multiple sports circa 1910 or so, just to prove that it's all been done before. BOOM. Problem solved. That there is what I call some Monday mornin' desperation/outside the box thinking.

Retired is NOT a word I've seen posted about his injury. Honestly, it just jolted me. Hope he's going to be ok. Football or no football.

You are getting a Graduate transfer QB winter term so that will help the depth chart a little and this kid can throw the ball 70+ yards even after three shoulder surgeries so he will help (IF) he can stay healthy. 6'-3" 220lbs

I thought you were hinting at McElwain coming and Luke transferring back, but Luke's a couple inches shy of 6'3". Wouldn't that be something though?

Yes, love Mac!!!! Mac recruited this QB when he was at Bama however Saban saw something in him he didn't like which was most likely mobility and its not Luke. This kid is 6"3" and 220 however has had three shoulder surgeries resulting in concern if he can play a full season or in fact, more than 1-1/2 games a season. He's a high gamble but if he can stay healthy, he will be a winner!!

Well, I think I figured out who the kid is. It took some figuring. I hope he stays healthy and gets an opportunity to play under whoever the new coach is. It'd be a great story!

nope. Cassel is the last name. I know he never started a game at USC but I thought Matt had used up all of his eligibility.
