This game is hard to watch. The Beavers are there own worst enemy. Out of control shots...hurried shots....and bad defense at times. All you have to do is look at the last play. UCLA player, who is the hottest player on the court is allowed to dribble the ball all the way down court and get a wide open look. Beavers were within four with a chance to get it to two or one. Didn't get the job done and now down eight at halftime. Need to play more under control or this game to get away from the Beavers in a hurry. Was there a stretch in there that was reminiscent to anyone else of the CR era? It was like once GP2 went out all the guys that have been on the bench lately went into one one one mode, trying to make the circus shot.

I'm not sure that Mike Parker can maintain his sanity much longer.

Did one of the ESPN announcers just say that he doubts GP2 will be drafted??

Yeah, that caught me off guard.....I'm not an NBA guy, but isn't the word out that GP is good enough to get drafted???

I wish I knew how to post a video I took from my phone of the game so you would all believe me when I tell you we are TERRIBLE at crashing the boards on offense. Time and time again our bigs watch the rebound from 10 plus feet or make a very feeble effort to get inside there defender for a board. If you don't make your opponent work on defense they'll have better legs to beat you. On defense we stand and watch as well or over commit or jump at fakes. Ug, very reminiscent of the Robinson era.

The tide has swayed in the fouls. Even though they are against ucla from where I sit they look like weak fouls.

The one day on earth we get some calls.....and we miss free throws and fail to guard their three point shooters

I want last years team back! At least they played with some tenacity! This is just sad!

We just had to call a TO because no one went past half court to even look for the ball being passed out of bounds after a made basket. And now an offensive foul. Did we even practice this week???

It's slowly dawning on me.....we were better last year.

The free throw shooting pretty much sums up this team for me. Just seems to be a lack of focus for some reason.

Didn't watch the game but checked the score from my phone. What happened? After last year and great recruit class came in, seems not any better this season so far. Might be better to start play for future and bench CR's players. No way they will be going to the dance or even NIT this year. Very disappointing after high expectation.

A lot of stuff being tossed around, but remember expectations are fan based. Of course the players/team were excited but the frosh had no clue what D1/Pac12 hoops were really like.
If any fan took off the orange goggles early on you'd know this was not a tourney team.
A)A good recruiting class? Ya, for us. But truly average for the teams were trying to catch up to. UCLA has underachieved for the level of talent they have, but their youngsters (their class next year is even better) are more complete players. All of our youngsters have serious flaws to their games right now. Paired with talented upperclassmen those would not be so glaring. They are not ready to be prime time players on their own.
B)no returnees except GP2 with talent levels that garner respect of youngsters, opponents, and to give us "talent depth".
We are for the most part very similar to the CR era, basically a one man team. GP2 is under pressure to have a great game every night or we have little chance to win. Rarely do those types of teams succeed on the big stage.
This class is getting some valuable PT/lessons on big time hoops. The embers are there, next year's class will add to it. But, we'll need a 3rd class to be solid and gain consistency.
