There was an article by my nemesis Andrew Nemec on Oregonlive today about Spencer Petras' stats so far this season (1,103 yards, 14 TDs, 0 INT through four games. I thought I'd look at MaxPreps to see how his stats compare to those of our other high school QB signees under Andersen:
Mason Moran: Sr. Year: 13 Games, 211-324 (.651), 2882 yds (13.7 ypc), 22 TD, 10 INT 103.2 QBR
Aidan Willard: Sr. Year: 2 Games, 23-42 (.548), 300 yds (13.0 ypc), 3 TD, 1 INT 91.4 QBR (had a knee injury that kept him out) Jr. Year: 8 Games, 40-91 (.440), 631 yds (15.8 ypc), 6 TD, 0 INT 89.6 QBR So. Year: 10 Games, 60-133 (.451), 892 yds (14.9 ypc), 4 TD, 3 INT 68.2 QBR
Couldn't easily find out how his team did, but I do know they got waxed 44-7 by Petras and Marin Catholic last fall and are 1-4 so far this season.
Spencer Petras Sr. Year (assuming 12 games): 3,309 yds, 42 TDs, 0 Int Jr. Year: 14 games, 172-305 (.564), 3,036 yds (17.7 ypc), 33 TD, 8 Int 115.7 QBR

Oh, Petras by a mile and without even looking at the stats... Petras is the first "legit" QB recruit we have had under CGA... Moran was a safety his whole career before one year of at QB.... asn guess what position he plays now And Willard was always just a depth signing / project... By golly I hope we get a new coach soon so that we don't waste a good, talented QB by yanking him around the depth chart, making him run plays ill suited for him (VEER), and making him a long snapper for a while (HE HAS THE ARM FOR IT!) And PLEASE Spencer, don't be scared off by our inept coaches!!!!!
