The down by contact rule when it's accidental on let's say an interception is ridiculous, especially with replay.

The stupidity started way back when the ground couldn't cause a fumble!
What the he11? You mean if you can't maintain control because you hit the ground too hard it's ok to lose the ball?
But, now on a reception you do have to maintain control if you hit the ground?!
Let's just get rid of replay and go back to real football. Men play the game. Men referee. Both make mistakes. Let 'em play and let the players determine the outcome.

I too have to say I have tired of replay, and of replay affecting the flow of the viewing experience. And then, invariably, after a several minute delay, either they get it wrong or they have just taken several minutes of time away from the game. Either get rid of replay, OR turn refereeing over to AIs. Either decide humans are in the loop and mistakes happen, or remove humans from the loop altogether. |
