last 4 points allowed next 4 points per game CSU 58 UW 47 PSU 32 USC 39 MINN 48 COLO 32 WSU 52 STAN 34 TOTAL : 190 TOTAL : 152
all 4 teams coming up are ranked 62 or better in scoring offense. we are ranked 125 out of 129 in scoring defense. its not in conceivable that we could give up 200 points during this stretch. I'm hoping for a improved running game that will keep our defense from being over exposed. my guess over/under 172

PSU +22 CSU +37 Minn +23 WSU +13
Those are the points above season average our first 4 opponents scored on us. By that measure we'll give up 247 in the next 4 games. Split the difference and call it 199?

1981 Oregon State holds the dubious distinction of allowing 469 points, 42.3 ppg. 469 points is the most points allowed in Beaver history. 2017 Oregon State is allowing 190, 47.5 ppg. Oregon State "only" allowed 153 points in the first four games of 1981. The Beavers did not play Colorado in 1981, but they did play Washington, USC, and Stanford. Oregon State allowed 56 points to USC and Washington and 63 points to Stanford.

This D of ours will surrender over 200 with ease. The good news is that we'll get lots of practice in the kick return game...LOL!

I'm assuming with the QB change we'll be running more, which should chew up a little more clock and in turn cut points allowed a bit. We're not off to a good start though, that's for sure.

It will be a major victory for this team any time it doesn't give up 50 points in a game. I'm not going to say "defense" because I put the blame almost entirely on the offense for the 48 points that the team gave up to Minnesota. With the 1 first down and 8 minutes TOP in the 2nd half. Not to mention the turnovers. Even a minimally competent effort from the offense in that game and we give up 31 maximum.

With a qb that can run the read option, and is expected to manage the passing game rather than stretch the field, I expect an average of 30 points allowed per game the rest of the season. That is of course, based on increased TOP, and an improved turnover ratio. If the O line could somehow gell, and Nall be given the ball, then we could have some really nice half the quarter drives. Still, unless we do something I am not seeing, I am rooting for my Beavs but it's going to be looking forward to basketball type of year.
