wonder what the Div 1 record is for punting closest to the opponent's end zone? If it's much closer than the 30 yard line i would be surprised.

Honest to motherf#%king god, I have NEVER seen that done before in my life. When you know BOTH your offense and defense suck, why do you waste one of your likely few chances to score by punting there? I suppose Andersen was so enamored with the previous series punt to the 1 and subsequent safety that he thought we could pull that off again? There is this thing to consider when deciding to go for it on 4th down, it's called "risk vs reward". - I get it that we don't trust our FG kicker to make that 47 yard FG, but even if he missed, what's the risk? Turnover to WSU at their own 30. Reward? 3 points. - Go for it on 4th & 6. Risk? Turnover to WSU at their 30. Reward? first down, maybe 3 points, maybe 7 points. - Take a delay of game penalty and punt? Risk? Nothing really. Reward? +20 yards of field position. I know there is a time and place for ULTRA-conservatism. When you're a 24-point underdog on the road with a chance to actually make a game of it in the early going is NOT it. Firing offense. Honestly, I'm so angry about this stupid, pathetic, gutless decision that I haven't been able to post.

The only thing it means is that you have zero confidence in your field goal kicker. If you have that little confidence in the field goal kicker you better find another one. The defense is still broke so why not try a field goal. Another wtf moment.

But of course we were going to play two QBs this season and our starter was in down 30... so decision making isn't limited to certain areas with this staff.

Did anyone ask the coach in the postgame about any of these decisions? Curious what BS answers he gives to try and justify any of these awful decisions.

Really said something when Leach decides to go for it on 4th and Goal after getting stopped at the goal line the previous 3 attempts, while Andersen goes full chicken mode deciding to punt when inside the 40.
