My bad! The title is very misleading yet not hard to believe after I saw us fair catch a punt within the 5 yard line in the previous game! Go Beavs! Reference to (punt) fair catch on 3 was last week. Knee on KO was today. No situational awareness. That's on coaches.

All I know is on the kickoff, a lot of bad things can happen, and only one good thing can happen. Advantage: Take a knee. I could not disagree more. I was very surprised that Washington State made the mistake of kicking it deep. A kickoff return is one of the few opportunities for a team down by 19 to get back into the game. If Oregon State makes a mistake and goes down 35-9, who the hell cares? If Oregon State pulls within 28-16 at the half and then comes out hot to start the second half, which the Beavers did, it is a different ball game. If Oregon State is up 19 with zeroes on the clock, I might agree with you, but I was livid with the Beavers' blunder. The only way the Beavs run a KO back with their returners is if the opponent replicates those moments from Make A Wish, where the team ushers an ailing little kid to the endzone. Things are bad when a LB is deep.

This is another thing that drives me crazy. There are tons of other guys that could be returning kicks but instead, they have the #1A RB doing it?! That's crazy! You are asking for an injury there!
Go Beavs!

The knee on KO deserves its own thread.
