All coach speak! Expect the same or similar articles over the next 9 games. PS- the season is already a quarter of the way over. You think this board is bad now (in terms of people expressing their anger over what's going on), I can't imagine after this next strip of 4 games, ouch! You thought CSU, PSU and Minnesota were tough (sarcastic)! Brutal!!
Go Beavs!

A few people have vented out there frustration and are back on board for rooting for the Beavs to beat the cougs. Heck I know some Beaver fans r going to the game in Saturday to root on the Beavs! I'm not angry anymore at the Beavs, but I'm wary of the chances of the Beaver win this Saturday, but I'm still gunna root on ol osu on to victory! Go Beavs!!

Don't question the effort, it's the ability, know how, and decision making, that I have given up on

Totally respect what you're doing BeaverNut and I think it's awesome to support the athletes! But with all due respect, having been a coach, that is coach speak. I, like you, supported CGA and the staff for the first couple of years and to be honest, after last season I was quite pleased, then this season happened. The biggest problem here (IMO) is the fact that many of the players are back from last season's team (more experienced) yet they're far less effective (they have gotten worse). That is a coaching problem. A great coach I use to coach with (he is now a coach at a small college in Oregon- and in my opinion- the best football coach in the entire state of Oregon, of ANY college) use to say "if you're not coaching players up, you're coaching them down"! Basically, if they're not getting better, they're getting worse. And that is the fault of the coach. As a coach, you can talk about how "it's your fault" all ya want, question is, what do ya do about it? Well, we've been hearing "it's my fault" for a long time now but where's the accountability? Where is the change? WHERE IS THE ACTION? Again, these are correctable errors we are seeing through the last 3 games, so I ask the question; if someone keeps saying "it's their fault" and nothing changes..... then what? That's frustrating! Would your boss let you eff up 20+ times and keep your job? Mine wouldn't! Want to be clear Bnut23, this is not me harshing on you. I'm just telling my side of the story and opinion, from my world view and what I have experienced. Go Beavs!

top 5 all time beav coach power rankings as of 9_14_2017. In reverse order according to coaching futility. (sorry Paul Downing, despite his winless campaign in 1895 is not eligible because he was also player/coach. That's cheating)
1 Joe Avezanno 2 (t) Craig Fertig 2 (t) CGA 4 Jerry Pettibone 5 Dave Kragthorpe
CGA is gaining on Fertig and Avezanno, seemingly every week. That's heady company. CGA's overall record to this point is actually better than Pettibone but the blowouts to middling teams so far this year has vaulted into a tie for second.
I hate doing this but it makes me feel better.

Holy crap! Our prized 4* CB recruit is on the practice squad?? Wth is that? Dunno. But, McGiven is OC and Baldwin isn't. WTF is that? yah and they decided to let moore play safety in front of Morris? Tell me how that happened when morris now has the most tackles of any player on our roster after only playing the majority of one game? To me thats poor evaluation of talent. It shows me that they are not truly playing the best players like they said they would. If I were a recruit I would be wary of going to OSU because of this. Another example is they have hardly ran the ball all year even though they have one of the best groups of running backs in the nation in my opinion. There is no excuse for them to have less than 100 yards rushing every game. There poor rushing can only be due to lack of coaching, recruiting or scheme (personally to me it looks like a little of everything). Why didnt they give the ball to tyner more when he wasnt injured? Why didnt they let there prized lineman jc recruit play this year instead of the garbage we are seeing? How does Nall only have one 100 yard rushing game? Oh yeah and how come they choose to play other corners in front of dunn the freshman when he was playing so well in fall camp?

You may find out why Dunn wasn't playing Saturday.

Great for the local kid, but Morris basically got in the way 8-10+ yards down the field on half those tackles and does an ok job in making tackles. However, his very poor in coverage and was lost on several of the (7) completions that averaged 22.6 yards. Our DBs are ALL a work in progress and having him lead in tackles is less of a kudo, than "holy s%#te... why is our back end the only people making tackles?"

I hate doing this but it makes me feel better. Where do you get this from, Baseba11's Mom? Here are the official NCAA winning percentages for all coaches 1899-present: 1. Joe Avezzano 6-47-2 (.127) 2. Jerry Pettibone 13-52-1 (.205) 3. Craig Fertig 10-34-1 (.233) 4. CGA 7-20 (.259) 5. Dave Kragthorpe 17-48-2 (.269) 6. Kip Taylor 20-36 (.357) 7. Thomas McFadden 2-4-1 (.375) 8. H.W. Hargiss 6-8-1 (.433) 9. Dee Andros 51-64-1 (.444) 10. R.B. Rutherford 13-14-6 (.484)
As with most things, the media guide is wrong. It counts two Fertig wins, as losses. (UCLA forfeited a game to OSU in 1977, and Arizona State forfeited a game to Oregon State in 1979.)
In 1973, the division system was created. If games against FCS and Division 2 and 3 are removed for those same 10 coaches:
1. Joe Avezzano 4-46-2 (.096) 2. CGA 4-20 (.167) 3. Jerry Pettibone 12-51-1 (.184) 4. Craig Fertig 10-34-1 (.233) 5. Dave Kragthorpe 14-46-2 (.242) 6. Kip Taylor 20-36 (.357) 7. Thomas McFadden 2-4-1 (.375) 8. H.W. Hargiss 6-8-1 (.433) 9. Dee Andros 51-63-1 (.448) 10. R.B. Rutherford 13-14-6 (.484)
Nine games left.
9-0 would tie allow CGA to climb to 7th all-time, between McFadden and Hargiss. 8-1 would allow CGA to climb to 6th all-time, between Taylor and McFadden. 4-5, 5-4, 6-3, or 7-2 would allow CGA to climb to 5th all-time, between Kragthorpe and Taylor. 3-6 would allow CGA to climb a spot to 3rd, between Pettibone and Fertig. 0-9, 1-8, or 2-7 would keep CGA in 2nd, between Avezzano and Pettibone.
CGA would have to lose the next 18 consecutive FBS games to pass Avezzano.

wilkyisdashiznit can you explain how ties factor into winning percentage? 4-38 would make him worse than Avezzano at 4-46-2? When you remove FCS wins: 4-20. UGH.
