We're 1-2 and haven't played a conference game yet. Everyone's wildest predictions for # of wins this year is still obtainable. We need to turn this ship around. You're never as bad as you look or think. I could spend hours posting about all the things I don't like about the past 2.25 seasons and I know countless others could do the same.
For the players sake I'm setting all criticism aside for now, and turning up the volume on my new motto; Go Get 'Em Gary!!!!
Last year we won the first half vs WSU, let's turn that into three quarters this year, especially the 4th. Go Get 'Em Gary!!!!

Last year we won the first half vs WSU, let's turn that into three quarters this year, especially the 4th. Go Get 'Em Gary!!!! In 2008, Oregon State stumbled out to a 1-2 start, including a 31-point beat-down against Penn State and a loss to a Stanford team that would finish 5-7. The Beavers found a spark and rattled off seven straight conference wins to put themselves within one win of a Rose Bowl berth. In 1956, Oregon State likewise stumbled out to a 1-2 start under second-year coach Tommy Prothro. However, the Beavers found a spark and went 6-0-1 over the next seven weeks to win the Pacific Coast Conference and clinch a Rose Bowl berth. In 1949, Oregon State stumbled out to a 1-2 start under first-year coach Kip Taylor with a trip to Washington upcoming. Oregon State rebounded to win 7-3 and proceeded to win three of the next four, including a sweep of the Washington schools. The Beavers followed up the 4-1 streak with a 25-20 win over #8 Michigan State, the biggest upset victory for Oregon State between 1942 (#2 Duke) and 1960 (#6 USC). In 1938, Oregon State stumbled out to a 1-2 start with a trip to Washington upcoming. Oregon State rebounded to win 13-6 and followed that up with a win over Washington State at a neutral site. The Beavers would go 2-1-1 to finish 5-3-1. Over the next two years, the Beavers went 14-4-2 (.750), including a 39-6 Pineapple Bowl victory (the biggest Pineapple Bowl victory between 1938--technically the Poi Bowl--and 1950), to set up the 1942 Rose Bowl run. September 16 is the 50th anniversary of Oregon State's 13-7 victory over Stanford in Portland. The Beavers' defense shut down the Indians' offense (Stanford's lone touchdown coming off of a kickoff return), putting up 13 second quarter points. The Stanford game was game one for the 1967 Oregon State Giant Killers and the seventh game in what would become a 9-game winning streak (second-longest in Oregon State history behind the 10-game 1962-1963 winning streak). September 16 is also the 57th anniversary of Oregon State's 14-0 victory over #6 USC in the Coliseum, the Beavers' biggest upset between 1942 and 1967. The win remains the Beavers final victory over the Trojans in the Coliseum. Oregon State only returned one starter, Art Gilmore, and most of the starters were sophomores. However, one of those sophomores was Terry Baker, playing in his first game for the football team. USC entered as 18-point favorites. Due to changes in substitution rules and an injury shortly before the game, Tommy Prothro opted to coach from the booth. He used the ability to substitute one player in every play to relay plays directly to the huddle (a novelty in the college game at the time). (For example, the Trojans' John McKay primarily let his quarterbacks call the plays in the huddle.) Oregon State would finish 6-3-1 with an inaugural Gotham Bowl invite, but the bowl was cancelled after an opponent could not be found. Go get 'em, Gary!!!!
