Rankings are dominated by SEC and ACC schools this year. The PAC-12 has four classes ranked in the Top-25.
ASU at #4 (signed 10) UCLA at #16 (signed 8) USC at #17 (signed 12) Arizona at #23 (signed 15)
Vanderbilt has the #1 class and the Beavers with 9 signed, did not make the Top-25. I think we were somewhat the victim of our own circumstance this year, a loaded roster returning next season putting us in a position of a "tough sell" with elite prospects that want immediate P.T. and do not want a redshirt year. If you pitch, catch or play the infield in particular, you will likely be brought along slowly in Pat Casey's program right now. The Beaver staff is adept at seasoning their young players with innings when the opportunity is available and filling a role presents itself. Starting roles are difficult to come by for position players.
Just my opinion but our recruiting classes tend to be a little under valued as well. Character of our kids and player development are contributors to that because the rankings don't really measure or consider those factors.
