He is going to be the coach at OS for a good long while. He isn't going anywhere folks. This may be a lost season already or it may not be, but even if it is- He will get the chance to win or lose at least as many games as he already has at this point. Think about it that is 19 games. He is going to get 9 more this year and another 12 next year at least. (Dream on if you think he will be pressured out after this season. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN for obvious reasons). So sit back and enjoy the grousing or second guessing or mockery. It's good stress relief i admit it. But if you think your message board coaching search is anything but keyboard flatulence, you deserve to be disappointed and butt-hurt. This is not wishful thinking on my part, it is reality. I too am disillusioned and filled with remorse about the performance of the team but fooling yourself about the now and the immediate future of the program is silly and ignorant

That said, there is a difference between saying "Fire Anderpants" and actually believing it's a viable option at the current point in time.

Yeah, if this turns into a 1-11 debacle, with a side of player disillusionment, the administration's hand will be forced, regardless of how much $$ is left on his contract. That said, I still expect CGA to be our coach in 2018.

Word is that Hekker is going to finance that buyout with his 10 Million dollar NFL contract! yeeehaww!!
Of course there is still a chance an honorable guy would resign knowing they don't deserve the money.

So those who want him gone know as much about that as those who don't think it will happen. It's just message board fodder. But, money will not be an issue if players are truly disgruntled and it gets to a tipping point.

Money is always the issue...his salary alone is going to be more than ticket sales would be. Also I remember all the folks who were going to buy tickets in 2015 once Riley left and they magically didn't.

Transfer all the football operations to a limited liability company. Let it go bankrupt. Cancel all contracts. Start fresh with a clean slate.
The market and taxpayers are so efficient at absorbing failed businesses, what's a few extra going to hurt?

This is the only viable salvation from CGA contract... we need Scotty Barnes talking GA up to every AD with an open footbal job ASAP. It's a longshot, but not as long as finding an OSU donor willing to pony up the buy out

If they could identify 1000 donors who'd pledge an extra 2 grand a year for 5 years (or 2000 that would pledge an extra grand a year), perhaps for some kind of departmental perk or privilege, buying out a head coach wouldn't be all that hard. I have know idea if the have that that kind of numbers. It would be certainly nice to spend that money elsewhere.

The only issue with that is they would have to solicit donations to fire a coach before the actual dismissal! Not a good public face although it's done behind the scenes all the time with big donors. And, since the new AD is a GAG friend (we all assume that? Just cuz he's from Utah St at the same time?) we'll also assume he's not going to instigate such a donor drive. Although come next year it's surprising what happens if it's him or you! Lol

Lol Perhaps they should just start soliciting now for a "Rainy Day" fund that always keeps a minimum two years of reserves and cannot be touched until 2 years after the system is fully funded. It couldn't do squat today, but in the future could be used towards income shortfalls, coaching buyouts. Sort of a mini-endowment with a limited scope of uses.
