"Not an identity issue"?!! Hmm. Let's see, are we run first? No, not really. The propensity to waste first down with a silly pass play took away any chance to establish that. How about pass first? Not really. Unless the objective is simply to say you passed first with no concern about results. The yards per attempt compared to that of Minny was laughable. The Gophers certainly aren't pass first, and only did so 8 times, but they completed 7 and for a bunch more yardage than we did. How about a team that plays with passion and fire? Nope. We came out both halves flatter than a pancake, which was especially annoying given the momentum swing we enjoyed to end the first 30 minutes. To come out of the locker room and receive the kick with a chance to take our first lead and promptly go 3 and out with no yards gained was pathetic, and this is a pattern. Hard-nosed tough team that will punch you in the mouth and keep coming? Not so much. They are supposedly stronger and tougher, and kids that couldn't even get a single D1 offer pushed them all over the field, even in our only "win". To make matters worse, we just flat gave up down the stretch in both losses. No, we don't any clue who we are, but I wouldn't call it an identity issue Coach. Man, this coaching staff must all be drinking the same kool-aid right now!

Considering our offense only held the ball for a bit over 8 minutes in the 2nd half, I'm honestly amazed our defense survived as well as it did. I don't think they "gave up" due to desire. I think they gave as much as could be expected from a defense on the field for almost 22 minutes in a half of football.

McKay's short reply is probably the best all time response by a coach.
