Not sure if this has been confirmed by anyone at OSU - - but another site reports that the Beavs hosted SUE BURRELL, out of Henderson Nevada, this weekend...
She was 1st team all state as a Jr....I don't know anything about her except what pops up on Google search...
Thought I'd wait for up close confirmation about her visit before saying anything more....

Looks like RAE Burrell is a highly regarded 6'1" Wing player......hopefully a Maddie Washington connection develops based on their Nevada roots. www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/228882/rae-burrellGo Beavers!

Rae Burrell is shown at the far left of the photo accessible below. She is already known to possess elite defensive skills for her age. Observers believe that she would be great fit for what Coach Rueck and his staff are consistently able to do to disrupt opposing teams on the defensive end. In fact, he might even allow her to go after a steal or two.....

I hope that entertaining a commitment from Rae doesn't mean that Rueck is unsure about some of our other 2018 commits. We'll have a max'ed out roster of 15 next year if Rae signs. Of course you have to make room for a talent like her, but a full roster? That's a lot of people that you have to get playing and practice time for.

From what I can tell, Burrell was a middling recruit back in February (Her list was Dartmouth, Marquette, Rice, San Diego State and UNLV). Now she has offers from Duke, Cal, and Tennessee. Her horizons have expanded a bit . . .

I don't understand why CR is going after a 5th recruit for 2018. Is he already projecting to redshirt 2 of them? To go from 10 eligible players in 2017-18 to 15 in 2018-19 seems odd to me. I thought 3 (or no more than 4) per year was the best way to maintain balance.

newduke2 & others who have been crunching numbers on the 2018-2019 WBB roster.....
It seems to me there are a limited number of options in this (thus far) hypothetical scenario...
(1) The Beavs don't sign as many in 2018 as is currently projected; the reasons are there: 2 signees a long, long distance from home (Australia & Paraguay). Another showing flashes of excellence but the verdict still not in on her Pac-12 talent level.
(2) The Beavs do sign as many as currently projected and then Redshirt 2 or 3 - -which, if Coach really believes the the future of the kids he recruits, seems very sensible to me
(3) The Beavs have attrition at the end of this season (transfers) - probably with Coach R's blessings. Who would transfer? Hard to say. Most likely the 3 who get least floor time this season. Way too early to name names. We're really in the dark on too many players on this roster. By Christmas everyone on this board will have 2 or 3 names that make sense.
(4) Everybody signs, everybody stays, and recruiting drops to 1 or zero the following year.....
Just thinking out loud.
