I'm guessing McMaryion will work his way into the starting job at FSU sooner than later. 5-7 passing 71%, no picks, and 15 yard run versus the nastiest D in college fb in recent years.

I heard McMaryion was in the press box calling plays for the offense and defense. He also punted and kicked off. In addition, he made several tackles and broke up a few passes. Saban was astonished that they didn't recruit him. Heard Saban fired the recruiting coordinator because of it.

Look, I haven't given up totally on Anderson yet, but I am weakening by the week! LOL! But to be sarcastic about McMaryion does not help IMHO!!! Marcus should have gotten the job this year, no doubt in my mind. I also think we would be much better off by this time, if it had been McMaryion. Not sure our record would be any better (maybe it would), but the games would have been more competitive. Luton needs a lot of work and not using the running game is wearing very thin also.

Great, the overwhelming majority of people here agree. But many of us are sick of hearing about it every other post. He's gone. It's over. Let it go! What's the end game with the unending posts about him, to prove CGA is a knucklehead that makes poor decisions? Why? He himself gives us many exhibits to prove that point each and every week. It's just played.

Who cares what a backup QB did at the end of a blowout loss FOR ANOTHER TEAM?!

I truly think the team might have had more consistency and unity if 3M had been in charge of the ball. But, we didn't exactly have the kind of passing offense last year that lit up the scoreboard. And if Luton comes around, in theory, we could be a potent offense. Give me a decent quarterback with Hodgins, Seth, Togiai, and Villamin with our backfield and we should win games. I strongly believe that. But there is something else wrong here than just the QB. The team appears to be playing down to expectations rather than rising above the adversity. That's not something that even 3M could have helped with. And in the end, 3M is gone. The question is moot. The cards have been dealt.

Having an actual run threat from this read option would be different especially if the qb could complete passes other than dink dunks Mcm has the last laugh leaving the dumpster fire behind of incompetent coaches

That isn't "dink and dunk"? To be clear, he isn't the starter there, and until he is the starter there, and plays the same type of teams we face week after week, faces the same pressure Luton is subjected to, and do it week after week, playing mostly the entire game, we won't know a damn thing.

After two games, McMaryion is 11/14 for 139 yards and 2 TDs and 2 carries for 22 yards. His adjusted QBR is 98.7. He would be the leader in that category, if he qualified. So far, Jake Luton is 61/100 for 674 yards, 4 TDs, and 4 INTs, and 9 carries for 5 yards. His adjusted QBR is 52.9, good for 72nd. Looking at Luton's individual numbers, he ranks 22nd in the country in passing and 19th for drawing penalties. He gets hammered for being 101st in the country in sacks. That to me looks like the line is not holding up their end of the bargain, as his other numbers are very good. As a counterpoint, in 2014, Sean Mannion was 57th in passing and 15th in drawing penalties. However, Mannion was 118th in the country in sacks, leaving him at 85th place with an adjusted QBR of 48.6. Of course, in 2013, Sean Mannion was sixth in passing and 28th in drawing penalties. But 108th in sacks. That left him in 26th place with an adjusted QBR of 75.9.
