We know the buyout for CGA and his staff is huge, no need to beat a dead horse on that one (thanks Bob the Builder).
Anyone have an idea of the athletic department budget? Is there room there to fire GA and afford a new staff? Smitty or Beau Baldwin should be within reach.
Not sure about the world of athletics, but would there be any possibility the AD and GA can negotiate a resignation? GA has all the leverage; but perhaps he could resign for "personal reasons" and save what's left of his reputation. Happens in business and politics fairly often. Perhaps OS could pay him half of what he is owed. He can go work as a D Coordinator or D Line coach somewhere and restart his career.

He's not going to get a sniff as a defensive anything. High Schools don't pay enough to offset his salary significantly. He's going to be on the beach at the Great Salt Lake and enjoying a Margarita. The Real Estate agents in Corvallis are strategizing on how to get the whole staff listing. Last I heard they all live on the same street so perhaps a "Block" sale

I bet in 2014 GA thought he would come out here, resurrect OSU in 4-5 years, wait for Wittingham to retire, leave or be fired from Utah, then head home to take over the helm there. Don't think the reality of that plan exists anymoire.

College coaches get recycled all the time. I'm just trying to find a GLIMMER of hope somewhere for OSU...

De Carolis left OSU in May, 2015. He is only responsible for GA's original six-year contract, a standard deal for new coaches that paid Andersen at a rate commensurate to his peer group. He was not the AD when Andersen's contract was extended in Dec., 2016; that one is on Ed Ray.

How many of you (us) would be willing to pay say a $100 surcharge on a season ticket for the next say three years to subsidize the buyout?
