I've been a dedicated Beaver since the 50's (more specifically since the days of jumping Joe Francis and the '57 Rose Bowl). And it hurts me to say it, but I've never been so down or pessimistic about the future of Beaver football as I am this morning. After MR's sudden departure, we (and the OSU administration) almost all allowed ourselves to drink the cool aid and too quickly buy into the notion that GA was the savior who would lead us quickly back to football respectability. But it's obvious by now that Anderson is in far over his head and his program is rapidly circling the drain.
Moreover, because of foolish monetary over-commitments to GA, we're probably stuck with a mirage of a football program for multiple seasons to come. And yes, of course, GA will be gone as soon as we can afford it, but by then, long-lasting irreversible damage will have been done: we'll once again be a national laughingstock, there'll again be calls to throw us out of the PAC, etc., etc., and it will take even a super head coach years to slowly pull us back to football respectability.
And I guess my personal despair is worse because for the first time I'm realizing that I'm old enough and probably won't live long enough to ever again see a really strong Beaver football program in my lifetime. Probably true for others here as well. Crap.

Take heart: Good coaches can win immediately. Once CGA is gone, theoretically we can be bowling in 2 years Pat Casey and the baseball team will keep us in the PAC (along with gymnastics, women's BBall and wrestling)

Man, things suck, but take a breath - go outside, experience the sunshine. Throwing us out of the PAC? Good grief. 3 straight losing seasons and 28 are not the same.

Just trying to inject a bit of gallows humor.........don't know whether to laugh or cry right now.
