Saw a comment in the Olive a couple of weeks ago from an " insider " claiming dissent among the players and not happy with Andersen . Any chance the rumor is true ?

If only 3M would have stayed here. Everything would have been alright. I know you don't buy into it, but there is a prevalent theory out there that the way Andersen drove away McMaryion in the offseason may have caused him to lose this team before they ever took a snap.
Based on the evidence of our first 3 games this season, I think this theory has a lot of validity...
Andersen has vocalized a tremendous lack of trust with his players. They players are now demonstrating their lack of trust in him.

Perhaps. But if true, the players CGA recruited are weak and not dedicated to their sport. Which of course would be another indictment on him.

I have trouble with this line of thought. The team looks good at times, but them completely falls apart. The defense was actually a swarming D tonight, but for some reason they tackle like it's a wrestling match...Greco Roman. The offense looks good one drive then just lays a turd the next. You will never get me to believe Nall, Pierce and a couple receivers play with no passion, and it makes no sense for Luton to fall in line with the 3M misery. O-line...well maybe something there, but they just suck. Same coaching though, so how the heck can that make for a worse defense??

I don't know anything personally, but I know a guy, who I trust and who has ins with some of the players. He said that CGA running off McMaryion after running off El Dio and Mageo was the straw that broke the camel's back. CGA was never a player's coach, but the players, who were there last year were very upset about the move. I was hearing a bunch of "the players are unhappy with Andersen" reports this summer right before the Colorado State game, and I did not think anything of them. However, after three games, we are seeing the results of a team with little to no morale, who have lost faith with the coaching staff.

Horrible in all 3 phases tonight.
Andersson should have been fired on the 50 yard line after the game.

The players don't have to like the coach to love playing football and play hard to win the game.

The players don't have to like the coach to love playing football and play hard to win the game. I think there are several players that are playing hard, but they are playing for themselves. There is no team, just players doing what they think is best. Nall has looked flat. Togiai blocks when he wants to. Most of the line went to the Togiai school of blocking effort. The offense is hokey and the players with half a brain know it. The linebackers basically ignore play calls and just try and put themselves in position to make a big play. Our corners are flat-out terrible. Our safeties play with heart, but the other nine are a cluster. Some of the seniors are really trying hard, because they have pride and/or are stuck here. Everyone else is looking out for themselves.

I seem to remember Wisconsin losing 59-0 to Ohio State immediately before Andersen came to OSU. It’s like that game was his blueprint for the future.

He quit after that. Alvarez came out of retirement to coach that same team to a 34-31 victory over Auburn three weeks later.

So what you're saying is Erickson is going to come out of retirement to lead us to victory the rest of the way?

That's actually not true. I don't know why I said that.
