And while CSU is pretty good these were the two worst offenses we will see all season.

You're just not going to be happy with anything. i think the next worst offense will be minnesota. in fact the beavs best chance at winning the rest of the season is also next week. And it's not impossible that the beavs win. It's just not very likely. So starting with the defense, how to improve a thousand percent in a week? personnel changes? Entirely new scheme? Make everbody do burpees until they puke? Anyway, the beavs pull that one off and it's going to be weird. Especially if they win ugly. the fire gary patrol will still be stomping around but it will be a sad sort of shuffle shuffle.

And... over a 1000 yds.
Funny Clune was seem as the real positive to this staff. Are we on the way to GA "having" to rid himself of his DC?
Is the 3-4 Clune's D of choice or GA's?
There is no way we win more than two more (at most) with this defense. Besides being physically unable to play it and putting our kids in impossible situations we seem to get dinged up quite a bit. Had several at different times with hitches in their gitty up.

Thank God they won, else a number of posters would have attempted suicide by jumping off the backs of their armchairs.

But, hey, those teams scored a combined 9 points in their other games.
Does that mean our defense is 10 times worse than an average defense?

If your criteria is to be lucky to beat a Big Sky team in a nailbiter, then I understand just ignoring putrid play. It's always good to win any game, but there is no fan with a pulse who could honestly say that we have a defense that can stop real D1 teams. I'm thankful for a win, but if we play that way defensively the rest of the year, today will have been our lone highlight. We are paying CGA 2.4 million each season to put a competitive Power 5 team out there. Right now, we're getting ripped off. To pretend that there is no reason for concern, particularly on defense, either smacks of myopia, or being satisfied with a future winning 1 or 2 games a year. We're giving up over 500 yards and 45 points per game, and we haven't even played a good team yet. The high-octane offenses like USC, WSU, UCLA and UW will shred us, and the rest of the league will have their way against if something doesn't change in a big way. I don't know if we're capable of that type of change that is necessary.

Gave up 90 points to two teams that scored nothing in their other game, PSU scores 6 against BYU and CSU scored 3.
