^^^^^About as unreal as it gets^^^^^^
Another "true Beaver" who has the definition of what each and every fan has to do and act like.
Does anyone else wonder if they just have the "definition" of life itself and we're just all missing out!

Something tells me you haven't actually been in Reser in a long time. Not that you should stop blithering and blathering here just because you don't actually go to the games but if you want to define "unreal" let's start with actually attending the contests.

Now there is the real you. So off base, making up just crap, and for what? Typically there is no substance to your posts. I'm sorry you feel so threatened by others with different and divergent experiences in life. I'm sure you've had plenty that I'll never experience. However, the difference between us is that I'm not in a low self esteem position to have others' life experiences make me so angry and attempt to be hurtful and I guess "funny". If you need that to help you thru your existence I get it. But, not that I've anything to prove to you... I've had season tix in my parents or now my possession since 1974 (pretty sure that's when my Dad... bless his soul... first decided on season vs game by game). I also attend almost every away game (except SC... attended there and hate the area and stadium), have men's and women's basketball... attend some away games, attended every away baseball series except UW this past season (no longer have Goss seats since the beer garden was introduced, but can get seats from friends). I also try to get to "minor" sports when I can... gymnastics, softball, wrestling, swimming at Osborne. I enjoy the campus and the people. I count former coaches as acquaintances and some as distant/stay in touch friends. So "blow" smoke all you want. Just know that most of the time it's just that... smoke.

It's a yes/no question by the way. Don't qualify it. I would feel better about your sincerity level if you at least made an effort to attend the Beaver Football Games but if that's not the way you roll let's just say you are here for the excitement of interacting with other beav fans. That's fine, but just remember next time you are name-calling or trying to pull rank on some poster who has 1343 less posts than you, It is INANE to question the credibility of any beav fan who has a fan participation level considerably higher than yours.

I should have said earlier... I'm not going to stop watching & talking about the football team. I just won't go to any more games. I need to see some improvements first.

Where's Prof when you need him?! He'd tell us the fiscal side. My guess is that it would be a huge dent in the budget, but Prez Ray has access to that type of $. The same $ he used to upgrade to the current salaries. Does he want to dip into it again for athletics? Probably not, but can he afford not to if we were to believe his words about how important the football program is to the university when he approved GA hire? *Plus you also need a new staff being paid. So you're looking at closer to $18-20 mil thru 2021 if you get quality young/inexpensive staff. The other question, are the asst coaches all guaranteed? The OC and DC salaries combined with GA's are a complete travesty when looking at their P5 experience and 20/20 hindsight of the success rate. My guess from quickly researching other new staffs... you could prob hire (the success rate is always an unknown) a quality young staff with some older experienced vets for about half of what we're paying now. My issue is with the GA, Ray, AD "connection". Why was there an extension in the 1st place? Where was GA going? And who cares? Ed Ray is an extremely prideful, bordering on arrogant, when it comes to his decisions. Will he ever really make the move to fire "his hire and extension" without severe pressure? Would he pull a MR and say it's my way or find a new Prez? Does the current AD have too close of connection to be truly objective? He worked with Paul Chryst, he knows what a quality rebuild and "process" looks like. He saw what savvy media and player/coach interactions look like. He can't truly approve of what he sees so far?? He's not going to fire GA unless the boosters are willing to fork over the +/- $12 mil that GA will have to be paid. The chance of that happening are slim to none.

Reality is, there is no chance that GA gets fired after this season unless they win 1 game total and the whole team is in open revolt.
When it's all said and done, if GA gets this team playing competitive, .500 football next season he will hang on for a while but the early returns aren't good at all. Let's look around at historical records - how many coaches come into a .500 program and then by the third season have amassed a 7-19 record and then turned it around?
I bet that is one hell of a short list.

I have been reading many peoples thoughts regarding this Mess.I was one who defended Mike Riley and was surprised He left after his meeting with DeCarolis. I was Happy when Andersen who said all the right things wanting to be here. I also was ok with year one,but I should not have been. When i see what oregon did to a team that beat PSU last year it really angered Me further. we drew the short stick on this deal. When i saw the empty backfields and a guy running free not once, not twice, but counting first game 4 times. That is more than i can stand. We are not slow, but we can't hold the edge. We are not able to penetrate getting no sacks. So much for thirty.I have watched and loved the Beavs since before My College days in the 60's. Prothros Teams played Syracuse 2 times and West Virginia in portland and as a 12 or so Kid i got there by Bus. I remember USC game in Portland 1965 Dee Andros first Year.0-21. My Fiance saw an injured player Beaver and said good. I didn't speak to her for the rest of the Night.I also Broke up for good with her. My passions have run deep but I have seen enough in the last 3 years.I don't enjoy the chainsaw experience,I don't enjoy the spirit squad or whatever that is and they play the same crap every game. I brought 3 bottles of water had a great brunch at Hilton before Game and Sat mostly in the Shade except for part of first quarter. Still My experience was I was Silent the whole Game not enjoying any of it. Being 72 Years old is no excuse to burn out,but I enjoyed USC game later especially the Young Man who was Blind hiking Ball for PAT. Number 61. What an inspiration He is. Watched and enjoyed the UCLA game Sunday far more than what i have witnessed Live. I saw every Home game but a handful since Fertig who I had a couple Beers with as a Young Man. My Friend Tom Daklos introduced Me to Him.Tom Died in 1991 so He was fortunate not to witness all this. I will be there Saturday night but expect a pounding. The Beaver office sent Me 4 Minnesota Tickets for free after I bought 2 extra for that game. I can't even get folks to want to come so what a drag 0 for 6 tickets so far. Can we blame them? Either they get rid of these poor coaches or they will lose almost all of us. They have lost Me already.I will support Woman's Basketball, and Baseball.I will go to Surprise and see 2 or 3 games. I also am not fond of Tinkle after last years fantastic record. Again Altmann cleaning up on recruits and we will be lucky to make Tourney. I saw almost every Far West Classic Game, but will OSU even Market Basketball and football together to draw a crowd? No Need to answer that either. But I will not give them any more of My 2500 annual donation Money until they 1. Appreciate their Fan Base.2. Put a decent product on the field.3. Start Marketing and Being relevant. Hell even Air Force can win with Troy Calhoun My friends Son who has come with me since early 90's to all the Home Games. He also hasn't enjoyed the crappy experience Game day.. So until something changes I see no Hope. Over 52 Years of Watching Beaver Football, from Jumping Joe to Terry baker,to Steve Preece,to Vern Burke,to Earthquake and Schilling,to Rodgers brothers and on and on. I have been blessed to see many good Years and many more Bad Ones. I can surely tell when we stink. No body but an idiot would deny that. so i will spend Money elsewhere.

I have been a Beaver fan since the Terry Baker era, but being a farmboy, I did not get to attend, except through KEX and Bob Blackburn. Later. with 4 kids, economics did not allow tickets, so we attended very few games. Now retired, season tickets are not affordable for us and thos @#$%$ benches on the other side don't work for my wife and her fibromyalgia. But make no mistake, I love OSU as much as anybody, and did attend school there, but did not graduate. My biggest comment is, IS IT FEBRUARY YET? I'm ready for baseball, my first love(1958}.

Interesting Use of Caps This writing style has been excruciatingly difficult reading since way back in Pure Orange times. Mr Saab, with no disrespect intended, are you aware of how bad and hard to read your writing is? I know you took some flack for it on PO but nothing has changed in decades. Do you have a degree from OSU? Did you have to pass any classes pertaining to language and/or writing?

He broke up with a girl because she cheered a Beaver player getting hurt! Now he's bunching it because we suck. And all you can worry about is his punctuation? You're probably equally adept at overlooking our defense to scrutinize Luton. Give the guy a break.
