No... it's actually being an active consumer. As such you get to "vote" how to spend your discretionary $. If the "product" absolutely sux you don't make the extra effort to spend your discretionary $ whether it's football, restaurants, travel locations. You make your choices, he made his. He's not less of a fan. I met Beaver fans who's first game was CSU. The only game they will attend... maybe til CU next year... maybe ever, who knows... still avid OSU fans. I'd argue your less the fan for telling fellow Beavers what constitutes a true fan. Grow up! I stand by my post. A fair weather fan: only supporting the team when things are going well. And you'll likely be standing by yourself or with other arrogant DBs.

So you know where he lives, what his income is, what his kids were doing yesterday, and a million other things that may have made watching the game on TV the only viable option for him, one that in hindsight of the temperature and performance of the team seems like a pretty good deal? We aren't all lucky enough to live w/in driving distance of the stadium, have the money to spend on tickets, and have family situations that allow for fall Saturdays to be spent at Reser. Nobody gets to make the call on who is a fan and who isn't. You can make the case that Beaver fans in general are fair-weather. I would say that's probably true. Fans I know that couldn't use their seats yesterday were having trouble even giving their tickets away. So yes, in general, Beaver Nation is pretty fair weather. Individually, that's just incredibly arrogant to make that kind of assertion about a person because they watched the game at home. Same goes for people who disagree about the aptitude of the coach, quarterbacks, athletic director, etc.

I watched it from my air conditioned man cave instead of spending hours in traffic to sweat my balls off in Reser. This is the attitude that makes Reser 1/2 full compared to the school down the road being full(ish) vs their IAA home opener. Definition of fairweather fans. 77-21. That's the main reason. They expect to win and usually do. Our expectations are being gashed by the day.

Individually, that's just incredibly arrogant to make that kind of assertion about a person because they watched the game at home. Same goes for people who disagree about the aptitude of the coach, quarterbacks, athletic director, etc. Personally, I'd love to go to every game, but it makes a long day, so everything has to fall into place. Tickets aren't cheap--well, they are now--but it's not just the price of the game. There's a whole host of factors. And to be honest, the number of games I've seen in person is less than the number of OSU beaver shirts and sweatshirts I own. I haven't been to a basketball game since I was a student there. I've never been to a baseball game. But I consider myself a fan of both. A die hard fan of both. And for many years living in Washington, Ohio, and Japan, there was really nothing to do but try to catch the audio online. To me, a fair-weather fan is someone who only cares about the team when it is winning. If you're still watching, you're still a fan. And Beaver Nation, wherever you are, salutes you!

Conversely, OSU experiences multiple 10 win seasons, Reser is packed.

It held my attention for 4 quarters. When we needed a game-winning TD drive on our last possession, we got it.

The Win is always nice!
I liked how the offense could move the ball down the field quickly a couple times.
Isiah Hodgins
RB T Johnson is a beast!
M Hungalu's pick 6

I enjoyed the bargain bin of used jerseys in front of the stadium. Got myself one for $5.
