My preschool-aged son was SOOOO excited that the Beavers won. Seeing his joy actually put the S***** game in perspective for me... Is he available as a defensive coordinator?

Hodgins touchdown capped a nice game winning drive. Hungalu's pick 6. $4 dollar bottles of water were tasty beverages to combat the direct sun baking our section. The fresh air at Reser compared to smoky Douglas County. Mostly liked that Beavs won the game.

Portland State is a decent team and did everything but win the game. That means we won one of those kinds of affairs! It may be our only win for the season given how the rest of the Pac-12 looks but I'll take it and see how the rest of the season progresses.

I liked that you were allowed to bring in unopened bottles of water. That was a good move today.

I liked that you were allowed to bring in unopened bottles of water. That was a good move today. That's been the policy as long as I can remember.

I liked that I left in the 3rd qtr when we were down.....then we took the lead. It was so f-ING hot in there, crap defense and boring offense. Oh positive.... I left a hot stadium where bad football was being played.

I left a hot stadium where bad football was being played. I was sitting there watching that boring ass offense, and thinking to myself - "We had an NFL-style (probably too) complicated offense back in the day, and people complained about it being 'boring'. Now we have THIS?!" SaveSave

1. Ramp gave me a Washington Way parking pass. Very nice to have a short walk to the stadium. 2. I saw Coach Rueck walking both to and from Reser. Weird, but nice. 3. Despite having a seat in row 19 on the old side, I got to sit most of the game. My arthritic knees loved that. 4. I was able to score a single ticket on the 47 yard line less than a week before the game. 5. I had shade by the middle of the 3rd quarter, and I still drank my three bottles of water. 6. That PSU did not have a kicker good enough to force us to go to OT. 7. That the pick six saved our a$$. 8. And finally, that the game, as horrible as it was played/coached, ended in a W for the orange and black.

First and most importantly, I'd have to say I did not notice any major injuries.
Second, after two viewings in person in 2017 I believe we have enough talent to be a top half Pac12 and a bowl team... with the right staff/ teachers of the game.
Third... and complete conjecture/hope ... Beaver Nation is actually "voting" with their pocketbook. Sending a message with the nonrenewals and low walk up sales they not happy with the product this staff is producing. Yesterday was the "quietest" I've ever heard Reser since the days of 15-20k.

I watched it from my air conditioned man cave instead of spending hours in traffic to sweat my balls off in Reser. This is the attitude that makes Reser 1/2 full compared to the school down the road being full(ish) vs their IAA home opener. Definition of fairweather fans.

No... it's actually being an active consumer. As such you get to "vote" how to spend your discretionary $. If the "product" absolutely sux you don't make the extra effort to spend your discretionary $ whether it's football, restaurants, travel locations. You make your choices, he made his. He's not less of a fan. I met Beaver fans who's first game was CSU. The only game they will attend... maybe til CU next year... maybe ever, who knows... still avid OSU fans. I'd argue your less the fan for telling fellow Beavers what constitutes a true fan. Grow up!
